Even though your wife's stock on 33s can follow you just fine, you still got a 2.5" lift and 35s? Take your own advice and leave this money stealing site. I kid, but nice to hear less is still capable.
I considered Wrangler and stupid stuff, but I don't live close enough to do stupid stuff...
Hey, another! I'd definitely be taking it to Silver Lake.
Seems like everyone says that about 35s. And while I won't know until I get it and use it for a good while, I'm hoping I won't be the same. I like the idea of not stealing even more mpg, or adding lift needs to a DD.
Damn right, it'll make me look cool! Will I make it look cool? Depends on if the doors are off and if my pastey legs have got enough sun yet.
The sway disco question was mostly to ensure going up to 35s wouldn't force me into a lift too. Not that I have plans for any of those yet, but it's...
Great point, and is part of why I'm leaning Mojave. So I can do nothing and still get the ride and look I want. Not even sure if I'd run the 33s bald before going 35, but definitely not get them right away. I want to be able to compare in the least.
Thanks for the info and advice, received...
You're right, I misspoke. Not often I talk about suspension, and so used "shocks" as if it were the generic encompassing term. Thanks for the quick lesson.
Compromise is sort of why I started the thread, see if any glaring issues get brought up that I hadn't seen yet. I'm looking to have the...
Nice truck. Any reason you chose lift before tires? BLD, forgot about that.
I didn't know rubi discos tried to reconnect at speed. I see no immediate need so will be going manual route if ever needed for now.
Thanks for the info on weighted ride and no creaking.
Good to hear, easy to keep it stock that way.
You were supposed to say no to that last question unless there were solid details. I can't be sitting around waiting even more. ?
Wow! I thought that first pic was you stuck on 35s in frozen mud. Faired better than the Titanic with those big ice chunks.
No plans to go higher or bigger?
If I can get offroad that deep and much I'll consider myself lucky to regret not getting a front locker. Or just add it, or make sure a winched Rubicon is around. I know I'm under appreciating any Gladiator's capability really, so I'd be good with all even if upgrades are needed.
Nice link. I knew there had to be something like that at trail heads. Ground clearance numbers estimates would be nice, since some are already higher without lifts. But it's all general and a risk.
Are you in a stock Mojave?
Thanks. I don't have any specific overland rig plans yet. Will start with tent, maybe rtt if use frequency warrants it, or back to trailer if trips not too impassable.
Do you ride with full gear at all times, or when de-weighted you have extra stiff shocks daily driving? If it is a DD.
Hey fellow SE MIer. Never heard of that trail, so that's pretty cool that you can overland all the way to Moab. I don't much about Moab, but was it a good one for your ride or have to skip a lot with the trailer? Not that you can't unhook for courses.
Was it worse than potholes? ;)
Fully stock on 33s, even more of a testament. Some nice trips and views you've got there. It's good to be close to proper deserts for the Mojave to roam.
You know, I thought about preemptively mentioning some smart ass impossibilities or "Rubicon superiority"... but I'm already too wordy and wanted the fun comments too.
I've been spending weeks reading to decide on a Gladiator purchase, but sometimes you just want to converse. Leaning towards a Mojave left stock or put on 35s to slightly raise and fill it out a bit more. Other options are to lift/re-wheel/35s a max tow or Overland, but this is mostly a Mojave...
Planning on getting my first off-road vehicle, Gladiator naturally, and wondering where everyone in the Michigan area likes to wheel or overland? Something to make it all worth it and not just a concrete daily driver.
I'd like to take some nice trips out west, but weekly/monthly needs to be...
I guess by resale, I mean stock vs. add-ons and labor. You don't get back labor cost (I've no garage, no driveway, limited tools), and upgrades aren't part of kbb. Find the right buyer, but in general do aftermarket upgrades have greater depreciation than factory, is the thought process.
But...
