Just had my windows tinted as well: check your door trim fitment and door lock function. Apparently my shop removed the door trim to install the tint and did a pretty poor job of it. My manual locks don’t work right: the silver barrel that you’d move inside the door handle to lock/unlock doesn’t...
I was contemplating doing the same with another 3D printed hood ornament, but then pictured that block of plastic flying back at me at 80mph. Hmm. Tried gluing a rubber duck to my bug deflector with 3m tape, but the tape softened in the sun/heat and was coming off in a few hundred miles...
I had no intention of making the word “woman” operative in my response, just used it for accuracy since the article mentions it. Sorry if it came across like I was victim-blaming. Just trying to say news outlets don’t seem to provide all the facts of a case. Perhaps there was info available to...
News articles rarely have all the info needed to make an informed decision though. The woman who’s truck burned down could have had tons of poorly wired lights or other electric accessories installed. If so, why would the manufacturer be on the hook for replacing the vehicle. I can’t of course...
I’m not sure the open recall makes your truck worthless. A friend just went from a manual gladiator to a new electric car and sold his truck to car max for 5k less than he bought it 2 years ago.
Following this thread with great interest, since my truck is a manual too. Not happy with Jeep’s lack of progress in this matter obviously. But there doesn’t seem to be any indication in that article that the fire started from a transmission failure. Surely there are many other ways a car fire...
Why not just check how much material is remaining? You may not even need to remove the wheel for the initial check. Granted, if you had a stuck caliper that was causing more wear on the inside pads, you might not notice until you check when rotating your tires, but a quick check of the outside...
You should be able to try it wired first. Plug your typical phone charging cable into your phone (lightning if an iPhone) then the usb side of same cable into the console usb port. You should now have wired CarPlay. When using the wireless CarPlay adapter, the console is the preferred place of...
It should work for CarPlay as well, but many reports of it being flakier than the dash port. On my 2022, my wireless CarPlay worked in the center console, but would drop out a few times per day. Switched to the dash port (got a 90 degree usb cable) and it has been rock solid.
I know, right? Don’t worry about it though, dates are super hard to figure out; they have letters AND numbers?!? Honestly, in all of my 35 years of experience, I’ve never seen such a thing. Must’ve been one of those Einsteins that invented it.
Correct, you did not disable ESS, you disconnected the aux battery and are preventing the system from checking its voltage independently (removal of F42 fuse). Typically people that do the Aux delete combine it with some sort of ESS disable approach. Use the disable button in the dash, Taser...
Same question here. I’ve seen some shows that try to make it to the water, but are faced with large refinery grounds with fences and security that tells them they can’t access the water anywhere.
In no way is this new “LC” a successor to the 70 series. The 70 is it’s own line which continues to be made and sold. It is not even the successor to the last LC we had in the US, the 200 series. It is its own line of cars (series 150, 250), like Bronco Sport vs the Bronco. Obviously they’re...
I’ve got a manual transmission, but can relate to what you’re describing. Under some situations, when clutching in under a little power I could swear my transmission is loose and wobbling/clanking under me.
Can you perhaps sneak a box wrench into the nut inside the crossmember and let the crossmember opening be the leverage you need to keep the nut from spinning? I.e., get the wrench onto the nut and let the wrench rest against the crossmember opening while you keep unscrewing the bolt?
Did you by chance compare the tire pressures of the Mojave vs Rubi? I test drove a rubicon and it nearly turned me off gladiators. It felt like a pogo stick. I did not test the tire pressure of the demo model, but a friend who bought another gladiator from this same dealer had his tires set to...
I love my bedrug, but next time would skip the sides and just go for the bottom/tailgate only. On the sides, I’d rather get some mole panels, which is still a possibility, I just need to unzip the sides and either sell them or toss them.
I do have a plug kit and compressor of course. It is 90% for the old school over lander look honestly and my kiddo is really into this idea. Would be fun to get the tire up there, but it not being a real need, hard to justify the cost of the mini-platform for up there. I actually already have a...
