Demand new tires. Should be warranty. My experience is that the OEM tires have to meet a pretty strict balance and roundness spec. The ones that don’t get sent to the aftermarket. We even used a lower spec tire for the spare if was on a non-matching steel wheel, figuring it would only be...
Just some speculation. Check the build date on your vehicle, perhaps around model changeover. Assemblers on both sides of the vehicle; left doesn't know what the right is doing. Could be from 2 different model years, or maybe 2 Wrangler and 2 Gladiator. See if the part number suffix is the...
On line they’re around half the price of the well known brands. That should tell you something. No indication of where they are made, but I would bet imported. Some reviews mention hard to balance snd rough ride
I actually saw one yesterday in a GC Stellantis/FCA evaluation vehicle. Looks very complicated. Eight spark plugs, two separate fuel systems. I could barely see the engine under all the tubing and wire harnesses. Like the 3.6, a bunch of stuff has to come off just to access spark plugs...
The MT BBs get good reviews. A little heavier than some others. I think Es would be too harsh. Looking at MT BB A/T 285-75-17 SL for a better ride. Only mild stuff. No harsh off-roading due to better half’s strong advise.
24 JT did it once on cold start. Engine sounded like it was running on 2 or 3 cylinders. Previous JT did it often on cold start. Depressing accelerator pedal ususlly cleared it up. No codes. Had the FCA company guys look at it, but they couldn’t duplicate the condition.
24 JT Willys. Stock running gear. So far, adequate while keeping most unwanted noises to a minimum (see previous post). Added an electronic trailer brake controller and 12v power to the rear of the bed. Also fabricated some custom brackets to fit over the bed sides so I can use my roof rack...
There is wire (black, maybe) that is battery power. The controller is always getting 12v power. It only draws power when the brake pedal is pressed. The indicator lights on my controller ate always on when I am driving. LEDs don’t take much power. If you are concerned, disconnect the...
On another post a member cautioned that after going deep, he noticed the front diff vent wasn’t very high. Might want to pull the cover in case there’s anything besides oil in there.
I have been using an old cheap thin rubbery yoga mat. It doesn’t slide around and items on it don’t slide around. I use it with seat backs up or down. I like the looks of the Amazon covers joedan916 got. It looks like they might be able to stay installed even when the seats are in use
Same thing happened to me, except the check engine light didn’t come on until after I heard the telltale lifter noises. Pulled over, no oil on dipstick. Home was only a couple miles away. Added 3 qts, and made it home with good oil pressure. Had it towed back to dealer, who tried to blame it...
How about electronic noise reduction/mitigation? The technology exists for headphones (they work great) and I think is available on some high-end vehicles. It could be tuned to drown out road and wind noise, but allow sirens, horns, audio and voices. I wonder if anyone at Jeep/Stellantis ever...
While they’re at it, how about making the headlight aim adjustment easier to reach, especially on the driver side. Maybe even make it tool-free. They did 2026 doors tool-free, so why not? I hate people who drive around with their high beams on in city traffic. I don’t want to be “that guy”...
Max Tow has the wide axles. You can tell visually by the little fender extensions not on a regular JT Sport. Not available on any other models or packages than Sport and Sport S.
I ran my wiring from the engine bay down the right side between the body and rear side of the fender liner. Then through a piece of grey plastic conduit that tucks nicely above the mounting points for the rock rails or side steps (I have had both). At the rear, I ran the wires over the wheel...
I get it. My wife hates rough off-roading. For paved scenic drives, hwy 279 south along the CO River to the start of Poison Spider. Then 128 NE on the east side of Arches. Shafer Rd is unpaved, but check it out from Canyonlands Islands in the Sky first. It looks scarier than it actually is...
