I swap between standard doors and tube doors very often. Some time ago, I stopped bothering to put the door hinge nuts back in. That way, I don't need to mess with unscrewing/rescrewing them back in every time I swap the doors.
Does anyone else do this? Any thoughts or experiences on what...
Google Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. It's illegal for a manufacturer to deny a warranty claim solely because you didn't use a specific brand, or to deny a claim for a component that is unrelated. For example, they couldn't reasonably refuse to honor an engine claim due to a lifted suspension...
3k miles on my Overland diesel. Had issues with DEF (dealer replacing DEF pump tomorrow, actually), but nothing to get too worked up over. Have definitely heard horror stories on the DEF system, but a lot of those are seeming to boil down to a simple problem exacerbated by a terrible dealership...
I find this really interesting. My diesel overland is my first Jeep, coming from the WRX world. The bane of the Subaru flat 4 EJ series engines are rings and ring lands. As such, the break-in of those engines is an exercise in making sure the rings seat properly and early in the engine...
I've got the Diesel Overland and essentially spent a week doing the above. It really wasn't a problem at all. Traction got iffy: 4H. Traction improved: 2H. Repeat. I come from a Subaru, and while always-on AWD in the snow is a thing of splendor, popping back and forth between 4H/2H while driving...
Just heard back from the dealer on mine. They're telling me it's a faulty DEF pump. Part's on order and should arrive in a week or two. They reset the codes so worst case scenario that the mileage countdown comes back, I just drive a little less until the part comes in. Pretty confident this...
Just installed a Tazer Mini on the JT. Had a couple questions for this crowd.
1. There are two menu options that I do not understand:
PlsBrk:OFF and PlsBrkNum:6
Cannot find anything about this in Tazer documentation. I just updated to newest firmware (11.2.5) and their published User Guide is...
That is just absolute nonsense. I would really consider reaching out to FCA/Stellantis directly. They might facilitate a path forward, hopefully, or it can be considered notification of an impending lemon-law claim. I don't know the rules in Minnesota, but here in Indiana, for a vehicle up to 18...
First time I shifted to 4H, worried I was going to bend/damage something I had to use so much force. Since then, I've used it half a dozen times in this snow, and it's gotten noticeably easier than that first time, but still requires not-a-small amount of force.
On removing the hardtop solo, it's not so much the weight, it's the size. It's just a big, awkward part. I'm sure it's possible to do it solo, but guaranteed that sooner-than-later you'd drop it, scratch it/vehicle, bust the glass, etc. In a pinch, it can be done solo. But expect it to be a...
Bed. My Dodge Dakota bit the dust and I was really just looking for an errand-runner used truck. With the state of the world, and used vehicle prices sky-high, just went new. But ultimately I went with a truck that did cool Jeep stuff, instead of a Jeep that did cool truck stuff. And it was...
I've got an Overland EcoDiesel with about 2200 miles. Dealing with the DEF system issues that others have reported, and I've noticed some bugs in the 8.4" infotainment system.
I went back-and-forth for several months about whether I go with a Gladiator, or go the safer route with a Tacoma. I...
I was aware of the Jeep wave prior to buying the Gladiator (my first Jeep), but didn't fully appreciate the dedication to the act, at least in my neck of the woods. And I've discovered that there's definitely a pecking order around here. Wranglers of all varieties and Gladiators: wave a solid...
I too am a part of this club. At 2k miles, generated the "Service DEF System" message. Has stayed on until 140 miles later, then switched to the mileage count-down message. Calling the dealer on Monday. I'll share results as they occur.
