Lol, I just bought 4 dirt cheap FRS walkie talkies off Amazon. Planning on using 3 for me and the two Tacomas in my group and can hand one off to y'all.
I'm cool with whatever. I'm in no rush for whichever route you guys want to take so long as we finish Schubarth before dark so we have time to set up camp.
Oh boy, wonder if the recent warmer weather will have the snow more or less melted. Has anybody had a chance to give it a look or seen from other forums/facebook groups?
My wife and I will be joining for the trail run and probably stop just before the end/private roads to camp out. The Funtreks book recommends a couple spots.
I've got a friend who lives down in the Springs with a Taco who may join as well.
Awesome, yeah I was just checking out the trail there too. Definitely looks doable and reviews make it seem like a good time. Will have to figure out plans with the wife and maybe we'd camp for the night since it's in the National Forest land too, but I'm definitely interested.
Hey, I've got a stock JT Rubicon still on 33s and live up in Denver. Have a winch up front and various recovery gear.
We just got a RTT, bed rack, and various camping gear and were looking to do a test run with those things as well as camp for a night next weekend. (We're planning a trip to Zion...
Check out Max Modular racks for the Gladiator that have the tonneau adapters. They have a 10", 14", and 18". Steel and aluminum. I'm about to pull the trigger on a 10" so the RTT doesn't sit above the cab.
Wow, yeah looks like they got it all. Need two kayaks though ;) I'd still want some bed space though besides the tent. That looks pretty neat though still.
Awesome video! Loved all the details and had some very professional narration and editing. New subscriber!
My wife and I just moved to Colorado, so we'll have to venture down to Tonto eventually once I get my rack/RTT in the next month.
Sweet, my wife and I are still researching kayaks - Delta vs Eddyline. Definitely post back or send me a DM after you've picked yours up. Very interested to see how they feel on top of the cab.
I'd be doing the same, but I would like the ability to carry a roof top tent (bed rack), bikes (hitch rack), and kayaks (roof rack with no drilling) all at the same time for some of our trips.
I'm considering the same. Will have two <50lb kayaks and really don't want to drill into the hard top for how infrequently we'd actually be using the kayaks. Just want this to be secure enough since my bed will be taken by 10" voodoo rack and Roofnest.
That looks nice. I've definitely considered the Yakima route.
I think I'm going to pull the trigger on KB Voodoo 10" Max Modular rack and just accept my tri fold will only be able to partially open in the last section.
Only thing I doing like as much is the space the canister takes up in the bed. But definitely retractable cover is convenient.
Check out the new post by TrailRax's new Bed Rack on the forum. Looks like they'll be releasing a full height that would work with the folding tonneau cover.
Awesome, Nate! The trip looked pretty amazing from all the Instagram posts/stories. Looking forward to the videos and footage you guys are putting together.
Thanks for the info! Definitely helps.
Also got the winch up front so slight bit of weight for that too, but yeah looks like you're all set.
What size tires/lift do you have on the Rubicon and what inch drop on the hitch did you need for getting everything connected up level?
Sweet! We're looking to get an airstream in our future to tow with our JTR also!
Couple questions for you
Looks like the 22FB Caravel has GWVR of 5000# with a 525# tongue weight. We're looking at a Caravel as well.
1) Since you also have a Rubicon and it's rated at 400# tongue weight, can you...
