Oh man that's a tough one.
I've never heard of the left side head having problems but I am no expert. I'm just a guy who went in and replaced a cam once....
Can anyone else think of what mechanical in the bottom end would cause a misfire without making a horrible noise or showing up as...
Sorry for the slow reply I've been away for work.... check out this thread there's part numbers and links to the procedure.

My opinion:
The cam that has the 1mm+ groove in two lobes is shot. I would wager its the right intake, but that's not clear from the video.
Replace it, replace all the lash adjusters ("lifters"), replace the rocker arms. If it is indeed the right intake, Jeep sells a kit with all the parts...
I have towed that trailer many times with the old Hemi Commander. Those things are heavy and its amazing how much heavier they can get with a load full of household crap! Even with the Hemi you could definitely feel it.
I notice you have a diesel, I get anxious just thinking about towing...
Be brave. Build the ultimate EV off-roader. Infinite torque while crawling is a feature.
Keep it simple so its still a Jeep.
Maybe not the best choice for a tow vehicle, but a JT ain't that great in that role as it is.
I have come into the house many evenings with grease up my arms and...
Many years ago I had a sweet 1991 BMW 318is, and I had a set of tire chains in the trunk. I used them maybe once but boy did I feel smart to have them- it was chaos on the roads after a heavy snowstorm, cars were at 45 degree angles and on the sidewalks everywhere, but that little RWD BMW...
Cool, well hopefully it gets fixed and buttoned up soon. Fortunately not a lot of snow yet in BC.
I'm gonna wager its the right intake cam. And hah for bonus points I'll say only one lobe is destroyed.
The tool set I used is the CTA Tools 1205 which includes both the tension release tools, and the cam locking blocks. It is currently $538 CAD on Amazon.ca but I paid about $400 a few weeks back.
Apparently you can make the old style locking blocks work, and then just buy the right side...
I made a mistake in my original post, the kit doesn't include the valve lash adjusters, but they are cheap.
Kit was $523 CAD, adjusters roughly $20. Shipping was $120 add tax and it was $745 CAD which would be about $530 USD total
Just fixed my ticking 3.6 this weekend. Total repair time was 6 hours and it was an intermediate level repair. If you have a decent set of tools, some experience and no warranty its definitely possible for the backyard mechanic.
Symptoms were a generally quiet engine, except over 3000rpm...
Hi fellow BCer!
Should be under warranty since its a 2023. Not sure if I misunderstood your sentence there but I assume you are taking it to the dealer right?
This sounds exactly like a typical ticking right-side intake cam to me. If you are bringing it to a shop ask them to put a stethoscope...
Definitely sounds like the bottom end of the engine to me. Spun bearing, wrist pin issue, or something else. Doesn't sound like the classic burnt out intake cam.
Dealer is right on this one, motor is not economical to repair. Enjoy your new engine, sometimes a motor gets put together...
Just got the clutch recall done- for me it was a world of difference. I've had the following manual transmission cars; two VW Jettas, 3 BMWs, a Chrysler Daytona, a YJ, an old Merc G-Wagen, and Merc C class, and now this Gladiator.
Gladiator was the worst, with the old clutch I would...
I am trying to order part # 68661147aa but the dealer is saying it is not a match for my VIN.
I think its because the parts database maybe isn't quite correct and it wants to suggest the cam by itself as the correct part as opposed to the cam kit.
Any thoughts on if this part # (cam kit) is...
I was just thinking that last night- it was a bit chilly and I was happy to get warm air blowing about a block from my house.
Last truck was a Commander with the Hemi and it took a good 10 minutes to start blowing warm air. Prior to that I had an old G-Wagen with a diesel I swapped in and...
I ended up buying a weatherproof dual 50amp Anderson connector from Amazon. It mounted nicely by cutting a square hole in the blanking plate for the 120v outlet in the bed.
I've got a red plug and a grey one installed. One will be for for solar panel input, and the other is power from my...
I agree with whysoserious, replacing the harness will be quicker and save headaches.
I live in a semi-rural area and I gotta say, the only thing I hate worse than deer, are mice!!! Little buggers......
I really like the panel idea with the voltmeter. I'm not a big fan of the cigarette style plug- having melted a couple in the past, but maybe I can find a 45amp Anderson that would fit in the same space.
