Even though I don't have these particular speakers, I'll add some comments here. About half the sound "quality" from a vehicle speaker is dependent on its mounting location, what's behind the speaker as in close box, or open, enclosure size, shape, what its made of, etc. Buying an aftermarket...
I assembled mine per instructions and set it on the truck and it didn't fit very well so I loosened the upper corner bolts I mentioned and it relaxed the shape allowing me to manipulate it into fitting the trail rails. Then I tightened the corner bolts up for a perfect fit after the trail rail...
If you loosen the bolts in the upper corners on all four sides to relax the shape will it then reach the mounts? I have the 22" high aluminum version and there is a silver color inner piece on the front and rear top pieces that will allow it to expand over quite a distance. I don't see that on...
The T nuts pictured below and the T nuts supplied by Max Modular do not fit the Jeep Trail Rail system, they stick out too far from the rails preventing the bolt from tightening against the trail rails. These are commonly known as the Tundra T nuts and Jeep uses a different more shallow...
In the late 70s and 80s I was into off road lightning and experimented with various ways of powering lights. If you have any voltage drop you will loose lumens so even though the stock 30A JT AUX switches will safely power a pair of lights drawing 8A each, I would want to wire it up and test for...
I got a 4 tire Speedflate recently and use it with a $60 dual piston 12V compressor I got off eBay. The setup works fantastic for airing all tires down to precisely the same psi then airing up later. The quality and workmanship are first rate on the Speedflate. Hey, that rhymes!
A multimeter will get you close but it can't read impedance, that takes some expensive equipment. A lot of 8 ohm speakers can read anywhere from 5 to 10 ohms on a multimeter and 4 ohm speakers can measure 3 to 5 ohms, all depending on mfr and design.
I have the JScan and was able to disable my ESS with it. Does anyone know if either of the devices being discussed will perform a cal on the front facing camera for the adaptive cruise control?
Yes, unless mounting the fridge provides an electrical ground at the mounting point you would have a double run of wire back to the battery. Or in this case the 2' wire to the frame would share the ground current with the grounded mounting point.
Speaking as a former installer of car stereos, commercial two way radios, etc, I say use 6ga for the positive and ground to the vehicle chassis. If this were a high power two way radio or car stereo amp I would then run both the hot and ground to the battery to avoid noise and interference but...
The ability to produce a firearm at just the right moment can stop an attack or crime without firing a shot and its estimated this happens many more times than someone shooting an attacker or criminal. It just never gets reported in the media so we never really know how effective it is.
The...
To check polarity you can connect any 1.5 volt battery across the speaker. When you have it connected where the cone goes outward with the battery connected, the terminal thats going to the battery + will be the audio +. So check the stock speaker to see what wire was connected to the + then...
For ground loop problems its usually the amplifier is at a different ground potential than another component in the system and they try to equalize the ground via the RCA or other low level audio lines and current is flowing on the shield of the audio lines. In these cases it can be very...
My trailer is about 3200lbs loaded and I carry a couple hundred lbs of stuff in the bed. I have an Anderson WDH and Airlift bags in the rear coils.
When I connect up the trailer I add about 25lbs to the air bags to get the truck near level then tighten the chains on the WDH to reach stock...
Having a few friends who had to use deadly force, I can say shooting someone is one of the last things you ever want to do. In my friends case it was justified but that didn't stop the temporary incarceration and very expensive legal representation, then the family of the deceased trying to sue...
Do you have stock size wheels/tires? As mentioned before a steering stabilizer is intended to dampen the steering from input from the road pushing the wheels around, its not part of a normal steering system design. I believe the steering stabilizer is masking other problems in your case which...
I had a serious wandering problem driving home from the dealer and after lowering tire pressure down to 34-35psi it was greatly improved but there was still noticeable play between the steering wheel and tires. I had previously made an adjustment to the steering box on my '65 El Camino with 200k...
