On my 2008 Tundra I sold to get my Gladiator I used to tow a 16ft Casita trailer, about 3,200lbs loaded and 350lbs tongue weight. After several years of towing off road and getting the entire trailer airborne many times I noticed the space between the cab and front bed wall kept getting a little...
Here is another recommendation for Casita fiberglass trailers. This 2014 16ft is about 2,200lbs empty and I suspect about 3,200 fully loaded and it has a kitchen with fridge and microwave plus bathroom with shower. Sits six and sleeps three.
It hauls like a dream and I use an Anderson No Sway...
You can also diode isolate the backup lights and one AUX switch so the lights will work as reverse lights and be switchable with an AUX switch. I used a pair of low voltage drop Schottky diodes with my commercially made Oracle flush mount bumper lights
I love Rivnuts, I used several to hold down a military antenna mount in the bed wall of my Gladiator. The only thing that could have been better is if I was able to reach the back side and slide a fender washer under the expanding side of the Rivnut to spread the load out.
Not sure what's inside a snorkel for a Gladiator but if they offer a version with the spinning vane thing inside that kicks out dirt I can highly recommend that. I had an H1 Hummer that came with something that looked like the link below and it worked fantastic. Offroad in very dusty...
I have not tested my new Jeep but with most modern vehicles with power assisted brakes, you have to stomp on the brake pedal with everything you have when the engine is not running, otherwise it wont stop very well. How does that work with your system?
The T nuts used on the Toyota rails are not compatible with the Jeep trail rail because the shallow part that rides between the rails with the threaded hole protrudes beyond the Jeep rails preventing the accessory from being tightened against the rails. The accessory will instead tighten against...
I'm looking into Gorilla Glass now that I have a huge crack after only the 2nd long fwy drive and 1500mi.
My wifee managed vehicle insurance for a large company in 21 states. A front windshield damaged by a rock is a no fault claim and by law insurance companies cannot raise your rates from...
The death wobble is a type of oscillation with many variables. Large tires coupled with light duty steering components that are not rigid enough coupled with loose/worn parts, etc. The oscillation needs something to start it up like hitting a bump, then the wheels and steering components make...
I just measured the T nuts supplied by KB Voodo for my Jeep that do not fit and they are the identical dimensions of the Amazon T nuts above. They do not work on Jeep trail rails, so why would KB Voodoo recommend these?
I think the KB Voodoo bed racks are of good quality but there is a known problem with the T nuts fitting the Jeep trail rail. I see they are still selling products for Jeep with the wrong T nut and if they know there is a problem (they have the video) and they keep selling the wrong parts to...
Do you have the plastic top bed rail hang over problem that will cause the mounting brackets to cant at an angle and either squish the snot out of the plastic bed top rail or leave the mounting brackets cinching up to only one side of the trail rail and the edge of the plastic bed top rail?
So my question now is, what is KB Voodoo going to do about this problem? If they get the correct T nut for Jeep will they send them to people who have purchased their product in the past for Jeep (like me) who received a Toyota T nut that doesn't fit?
So if something has become "out of position" due to insufficient torque at the factory, then it sounds like its moot for the customer to go over his truck and torque everything to spec since we probably can't measure what might be out of position.
Yes, you are absolutely right. However there is still tremendous loss going to that really small antenna and I estimate at least 6 to 10dB or 4 to 10X the loss of the stock antenna. If you drive within an area where your local FM stations provide enough signal to be noise free then of course you...
Did you see the picture of my COMPACtennas a few posts above? They have a new 136-174, 378-512, 750-960MHz version that works surprisingly well and its only 9" tall. I have not used that one but do have an older version that covers basically the same bands and it works better than several other...
I know a travel trailer and tent trailer are two different animals with different capabilities, the tent trailer just sounds like a lot of weight for its size and amenities.
