Great I'll have to readjust the way I drive now again :asshat: Guess I'll go back to how I used to drive normal cars and find the sweet spot for the JT without slipping the clutch. I appreciate your advice tho!
Oh no I appreciate the advice. Just to be clear on my end, I'm pressing the clutch all the way in which at that point the JT is in neutral. When it's at that neutral state that's when I give it a little gas so my rpm doesn't go down and then I'm shifting up to next gear and accelerating. I don't...
My expertise is definitely not in the mechanical area, but I somewhat agree with others saying "user operator" break in period. I feel like I had to adjust the way I drive my JT because it is different than driving any other vehicle in my experience (I used to drive manual cars). In my other...
I think you're exactly right. I searched for this issue on the JL wrangler forums and my noise is definitely coming from the steering and apparently it is normal, at least for the JLs and I guess for the JTs.
I'm interested to know what the dealer say about your #3. I'm experiencing similar noise from my JT when maneuvering in my garage and out of a parking. I hear a whine and it gets noticeably louder when I'm turning the wheels.
I'm not sure if your whine is the same as my "squeal" but this happens to me almost every time I turn my wheels to drive out a parking spot or when I'm reversing into a parking spot while turning the wheel. I wasn't sure if this was an issue so I brushed it off. Would like to hear if others are...
Glad to hear this report. I have a little over 1k miles and I'm starting to realize I'm still breaking in the tranny and clutch. At the same time I'm finally learning how my JT likes to shift and drive. When I get it right, it drives really smooth and I absolutely love driving this manual.
Sure. Mall of Georgia Chrysler Dodge Jeep. You want to talk to Mike Clinnin and tell him you're from the Gladiator Forums. If you want, tell him Haruyoshi sent you. I do get a referral fee and I will split it 50/50 with you.
Hopefully with newer technology and vehicle evolution this is not the case on the Gladiator. Especially when it still has almost 4 gallons left even after the computer gauge reads 0. I only done this once when I drove about 5 miles after it read 0 but still could only put about 18 gallons of...
So production numbers doesn't mean actual sold units right? They can produce 100k Gladiators but have 100k sitting on lots. It's still too early to tell, but at the current MSRP the Gladiators are priced little too high and we will see the prices coming down a bit. At least that's what lot of...
I'm glad to hear that and if you do find the post do share! Thanks for your input. I feel better knowing that I still have little extra miles to go even if the gauge reads 0. The JT doesn't get the greatest MPG so the longer I can delay going to the gas station the better.
I'm glad to know that the sound went away for you. I'm one of them that hear this sound but I'm still only at 1k mileage. Do you think you adjusted the way you were driving/shifting after the first few hundred miles or stay the same consistently?
