I know I’m reviving a very old thread, but the same issue has been happening to me with my DD SS3 max fogs. This thread has given me a bit of insight. I always drive with my start stop off and they turn off on me, especially when turning. My theory is that it is probably the power steering...
You’ll get used to the sounds soon enough and know what normal sounds like. The truck makes a LOT of different sounds and it usually isn’t prudent to chase them down. Just turn up your music and enjoy the truck.
I wouldn’t worry unless a sound starts to get louder over time or is accompanied by...
Yes, completely normal. Both of the gladiators I have owned have made that sound since the day I got them. The next time a random JL Wrangler or Gladiator pass by you in the Target parking lot, listen for it; I guarantee you will hear it.
Probably a dumb question but would a Blackstone oil analysis report be helpful to determine whether this or not this issue could be present?
The pentastar is fairly noisy at baseline and it’s hard to tell if my tick is a bad tick from other people’s videos.
I tightened up my parking brake tensioner under the center console so now my brake works again.
How can I tell if I’ve put too much tension on the cable? I don’t want to be driving around having the drum brakes engaged with the parking brake lever all the way down. I tightened it then backed...
No, you’re right; a lot of people with JLs have RTTs on gutter-mounted roof racks. You could probably get away with it using a light RTT on a gutter rack that distributes the load over large lengths of the gutters and you don’t take it off-road at all. Still a gamble though. I bet those guys...
Most roof racks for the JT and JL attach using the rain gutters which wouldn’t be suitable for the dynamic weight of a RTT. The hardtop is made of fiberglass and I wouldn’t feel comfortable mounting any significant amount of weight to it.
There are a couple of roof rack systems that bypass the...
How did this work out for you? Did you figure out the issue with the larger inner gap?
ARB has different models of the Safari snorkel for different trucks; which one did you use and would you use it again?
to answer your question, yes, I have done this without a seat delete system. It’s good for indiscriminately packing a bunch of stuff back there without worrying about keeping stuff upright but otherwise it sucks. Can barely fit a fridge appropriately. You’ll want the flat load floor.
I have an alucab contour and it does get pretty toasty in there. Depending on how much you’ve sealed up your tailgate and how often you’re driving around. Also remember the hot exhaust pipe runs under down the left side’s length of the bed. Personally, I’d put my fridge in the cab. or get a...
When doing your wiring, did you guys connect the negative cable directly to your negative battery terminal, or did you wire it to ground?
and at what minimum voltage did you set it to begin charging?
