So I just recently learned about these: https://colbyvalve.com/ from another thread (Didn’t want to hijack it).
I already carry replacement stems and plugs but wasn’t even aware you could replace the whole valve from outside. Ive needed to replace the stems a few times and was glad to have them...
I thought the same thing. Not even close to the hardest rescue, but you gotta get those clicks. He gets mine regardless. Even without the clickbait titles. It’s a fun show.
Someone in the comments mentioned carrying spare valve stems you could install from the outside. I never heard of them. Anybody know anything about them?
Say what you want about how he ended up there but there isn’t another pickup on the market as capable as a JT Rubicon. The fact that he could drive it out of there bone stock is a testament to it…
I think it was last year some time, there were reports of a group in town employing the method to steal cars. It since died down and I haven’t heard anything else about it. Don’t know if they were caught or moved on to somewhere else…
He’s not wrong. EVERYTHING is going up.
I won’t even attempt to get into a discussion on the cause of that as it would for sure get the thread locked and probably me banned. . . ?
Some interesting stuff here. But again, I wasn’t suggesting anything. I was just trying to figure out why the one that was stored away and not being used at all would die, while the one that was active would stay fresh. Maybe it’s just a bad fob, or had a weaker battery, IDK.
I’ll see still...
I used the hack of keeping your key fob wrapped in aluminum foil. The purpose is to keep the barbarians from intercepting and copying the generated electronic signal in order to steal your truck. It was a spare fob that I kept stored in the gun safe. While it did work, it also killed the battery...
I’m going to rehydrate this thread hoping it’ll rekindle some conversation on the topic. I’ve since taken the RTT off my truck and it’s brought my comfort level up significantly. . .
