Can't remember where I read it but some sources were saying that production will begin in late fall / early winter 2017. If thats true then we'll see JL Wranglers hit dealers in Q1 of 2018.
For sure it should be a better vehicle in every respect or they wouldn't bother with a new platform. Better off road and on road, better MPG, more power/tq, updated transmissions, more engine choices. But i know it's also what they didn't change that some people really want to know. The Wrangler...

Also sounds like the pickup will be slotted pretty high in the range and priced accordingly. But good to hear it'll also have proper Jeep capabilities too. Would hate to see them enter into the pickup space...
That's Ford, seems to happen a lot with them. I was shopping for a mustang and pricing and full specs weren't released for 3-4 months after the reveal. Crazy because I think order banks had opened.

Press launch could mean the actual press drives for journalists. In which case its possible they reveal the JL, specs and pricing online (and open order banks) before even having the press drives.
