It likely means the media outlets have the pricing info already but it's under a press embargo and the embargo is probably set to lift at midnight March 30, so you'll see all the media outlets post up the pricing info at that time.
Agree awesome coverage and what a help this site has been. I've learned more here than any dealer could tell me or any other forum (except maybe the jl site )
Good grab. Someone at FCA must have gotten lazy on a Friday :giggle:
Glad to know the final name now. And made total sense to carry over the concept name.
FCA didn't share much advanced info or schematics with vendors for the JL so I'd be surprised if anyone at AEV was made aware of a 2-door JT this time around. I HOPE I'M WRONG though :) I think a 2 door JT would be badass!
Been following the Ford Ranger development and its max towing and max payload numbers have just been revealed to be class leading.

Hopefully Jeep anticipated this and at least tried to...
It definitely is purposely underrated on paper (official specs). The JKU can tow well over its 3500 lbs official tow capacity. I've seen a friend tow a Ford Bronco on a hauler across Washington in his JKU Rubicon w/ 6 speed. The Bronco weighed about 4200 lbs and the Hauler about 2000 lbs...
Rugged Ridge and a few others have made power soft tops for years. The "rails" just fit fit alongside the sport bar I believe. I don't know anyone that's actually bought one since it's $$$ but I would not trust it to withstand heavy rain/wind.
There's now rumors of a mid-sized Ram in development based on the JT Wrangler pickup platform and built on same line as the JT. So that could be why only the JT is scheduled for the Toledo South plant so far.
Wow that's a long shut down for Toledo North. Only 1 to 2 months for the current line? i'm no expert on this but for all new model that sounds like a quick retooling time. Another sign it won't be a drastic change I would think.
Anybody think their JK looks ever so slightly outdated now? After staring at these for a couple of days when I see my or other JKs on the road they seem just a bit upright and the fenders seem just a bit incomplete. Amazing what a little window rake, higher fenders, angled D pillar, slanted back...
It's too bad he didn't sneak out a pic like what happened at this dealer meeting :)
But yea I bet when the JL Wrangler is revealed it's going to be one of those new models that while looking pretty similar to the outgoing one, still features 90% new panels. The spy pics and renderings support...
From the admin's description seems this is the JT Wrangler pickup truck. Make sense, you can't see see the cockpit in the image (but you can on the Cherokee next to it).
This is definitely what I'd call an evolutionary design rather than revolutionary.
