Definitely not bent frame. Hitting whoops and jumps does not cause it to bend backwards. Also I'd expect the shock bolts to shear off or seriously bend, but due to bump stops you'd most likely rip the bumpstop off like I have done.
I don't have a Mojave and have taken mine over 55 in smaller...
The combination is perfect. The truck now has the proper power it should have had from the factory. Though I'd prefer another 30 ft. Lbs. of torque to round things out nicely
All right gang, I installed the Magnuson Supercharger on my JT along with the Long Range America aux fuel tank, hooked up a 3500 lbs trailer (dry weight), and loaded 40 additional gallons of fuel in the truck bed, 40 gallons of water in the trailer, and another 500ish lbs of gear in the trailer...
Appreciate the insight guys. I do have a separate 2nd lithium battery that I use a dc to DC charge and that works great, was hoping to increase capacity on the main battery, but I seen to quickly forget how many systems and controls are in place through the pcm that would make it problematic...
Anyone replace the main battery with a lithium? I'm hoping that there is a battery available with the same dimensions which would result in more capacity vs. Same capacity but smaller size. All I've seen so far is Dakota lithium, but they note max alternator current is 80amp. I'm guessing having...
I have $3k in shocks and $1.5k in bump stops, and absolutely use the shit out of them. For the high speed things I do in the desert totally worth it. I ripped off my rear bump stop after hitting a big jump at 70mph with the mopar lift, now having bump stops + upgraded shocks it is night and day...
exhausts I think are the worst, you spend over $700 for most (aside from one that is around $350) and there are no power gains, but hey, now it sounds different. I'd just recommend cutting it off after the resonator and attach a 90 deg. tail pipe. Total cost was about $10, and no, there was no...
Used my JT as a Chase truck for the Baja 1000, over 2200 miles during that. Then right after I did a 7500 mile cross country trip which included 300 miles of off roading in Moab and Sedona. Had slave cylinder issues with my clutch the whole time but it was still drivable. At 85mph on 37's I got...
totally agree, the light bulb went on right after I realized there's a lot more to it than just power. I'm great at jumping my jeep, but towing is a whole new thing for me ha
I'm not sure how my question resulted in you assuming I wanted to hear something specifically. That's a bit of an obtuse comment. I was sharing my thought process on trying to understand the impact of towing something 2,000 lbs over my limit even though it seems like it could be fine (key word...
@ShadowsPapa agreed hitting any hill will be brutal. I have wondered about what the clutch can handle as well but have not been able to find good info. I do know that the torque maps in the ECM will only allow so much to be applied going from stop to go. I'm not sure how that is changed though...
I'm slated to pull a camping trailer with a max weight of 6,000 lbs. UNfortunately that is 2,000 over what my Sport JT is rated for based on the door label. My axles are re-geared at 4.56 with 37's, and my clutch was replaced about 10k miles ago due to a recall issue. I'm confident it will be...
Hey gang, forgot to update everyone here on my ticking, the dealership initially thought it was from my bottom end so they were looking at replacing the engine. Then FCA said "wait, take pictures of the top end valvetrain" and when they did open it up it turned out to be 2 rockers on my left...
Hey gang, anyone know what might cause my steering wheel to lose alignment after hitting a mild obstacle? This has happened 3 times and the toe was always fine. All I would do is adjust my drag link by 2 full rotations and this were perfect and straight again. (it has happened where I have had...
I'd check and make sure you're not rubbing first before adding spacers, then only add them until you get a different offset rim. If you're putting 3.0's then I'm thinking your ripping in it pretty good and that means you'll definitely trash a spacer pretty quickly
I love the Clayton front springs. My front end would start to stuff itself on whoops because the previous springs were around 120lbs rating, the 188’s make it so much better.
I’ll definitely need to look into possibly using fronts flipped upside down, I didn’t think about that.
I found a nice...
