Exciting update: final quote has been receved for 100 pairs of front and 100 pairs of rears, and I completed my initial payment to start prduction and order the material!
Spings will be ready to ship out nationwide in 10 weeks or less. There has been some challenges in the supply lines for the...
I have a very detailed post about wheel travel and highlight pinion angle here: https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/forum/threads/pre-runner-springs-lots-of-rear-wheel-travel.75419/post-1259632
In order to get the full 32in you need a spring with a 26in free length, and at this point I have not seen any spring longer than 24in which is what drove me to develop the ones I plan to produce. Additionally, with my springs you can add a 3/4in spacer to help increase preload/ride height...
Final design was locked in Monday, and we are waiting on final material quotes. Once I have the quote I can make the initial production run payment and then it is 6-8 weeks max. I can then also provide details on pricing and shipping costs. I am unable to afford free shipping right now, but it...
I'd recommed, specfically for the rear, the rock krawler pro-x upgrade as that allows for full range of motion, more axle droop, and keeps things more square when hitting jumps. The reason is because of triangulating the uppers over the rear pumpkin. This allows for the removal of the track bar...
Hey gang, I am back from the NORRA 1000 and it was a huge success on multiple fronts.
First thing - Springs: They worked awesome and showed no signs of issues, premature wear, and handled the whoops with no issues!!!
I sent in the final designs to begin he production process, I will have lead...
The pro-x is the only way to utilize full rear travel anything else and you're missing out on travel because you go into suspension bind due to the rear track bar.
I am running Clayton lower control arms but rock krawler upper with the pro-x axle truss. This allows up to 18in of rear travel...
Good morning everyone! Quick update on the Springs:
I've installed the next version of the rears which came in at 129 lbs/in. This dropped the rear height by about 3/4 of an inch (empty) and it looks and rides better than the previous set at 142 lbs.
I also increased the free length by .25in...
The diesel requires a lot more for the rear because the Rock Krawler Pro-X doesn't fit with all the emission stuff in the way. The pro-x is what is key to getting the rear to have the freedom to utilize the full range of wheel travel. Without it the rear goes int bind from the 5 link design...
Alright everyone, after a lot of merchandise issues and platform issues I finally launched my GoFundMe: https://www.gofundme.com/f/2024-norra-1000-race
I have 1 more set of rear springs I want to test that arrive next week, then it's time for the rally!
I'll have starlink with me during the...
quick update: I ordered 1 more set of R&D rear springs, it will lower the rear height by 1 inch so I'll be retaking photos once I have them. total jounce is reduced by about 110lbs, but there is more compressible margin with reduces the stress at full bump which improves life!
Currently...
the power curve is very smooth and consistent, you dont have to rev it to 4k just to start generating boost. at 2500 rpms I had about 60 ft. lbs more than stock on my dyno chart. It was tough for the dyno to get lower rpm data when running my truck in 4th (1:1 ratio)
ah, the Demon and Hellcat makes sense. I do all my own work so theres not much of a cost for me to throw in new internals, but having a professional shop do that for the 3.6 + the SC then I definitely agree becuase that alone is going to run 10k for just the 3.6 build + upgraded parts for 3k +...
I have not had any issues with heat management, but that doesn't mean someone might. I am in the desert often but never had an issue with heat. I do also have a manual trans so that removes the need for the auto trans cooler which is a positve for me.
My torture test was in 2022 when I towed...
the Magnuson kit does about 7 psi of boost, which has been pretty good. There are concerns that the rods and wrist pints are the weak links for boosted applications so theres a few aftermarket forged kits available. When its time for a rebuild I'll be adding those just to add more margin.
the motor is good, and well designed for longvity for a regular daily driver. For me it is under powered which is why I supercharged it. Now with 326 hp to the rear wheels (37's) it has the right power I feel it should have for the way I drive it, but again I'm not doing basic/simple daily...
well crap, i forgot the flex photos. When I had the stock fron sway bar + rockjock rear along with Clayton front springs, Synergy rears coupled with Fox 2.5's (11.19in shock travel front, 11.97 shft travel rear) my front flex was 32in and the rear was 30. The front springs were a bit too stiff...
Happy Sunday everyone! I finally had a chance to take more more measurements ad data points on the spring design I'm finalizing for production. The photos show truck ride with and without 266lbs of pre-running gear in the bed. With 266lbs of gear the rear sits about 15/16ths of an inch lower...
