  1. Clayton Offroad 2.5" Overland Plus kit with Fox shocks on JTR diesel-- need help!!!

nope, a brace will not solve it. The jam nuts all need to be torqued to a pretty hgh level. Also, when the kit was installed it should have been hand tightened then placed on solid ground then final torqued. I have noticed aftermarket track bars like to be torqued to 135 ft. lbs. The stock bolts...
  2. Clayton Offroad 2.5" Overland Plus kit with Fox shocks on JTR diesel-- need help!!!

after installation and some initial driving of any lift you always need to recheck torque on ALL suspension bolts. I'd start there
  3. Building 3.6 with forged internals

I wish there was an alternative lifter that could be used that doesnt result in them failing. I had the intake fail twice on mine. (I was also beating the piss out of the engine leading up to it). I think the biggest challenge is quality tuning support. The way the systems and controls are set...
  4. Ford Lays Off 700 from EV Production - NOT Strike Related

I'm not surprised, all the big auto companies are trying to quickly come up with an EV to compete with Tesla (and now Rivien), and to be honest it looks like they are tryin to make EV's from a pure market share perspective, not authentic caring about making a great electric vehicle. Add to that...
  5. Mojave frame reinforcement teardown

bent behind the axle, very interesting especially for a stock Mojave. I wonder how it happened
  6. We want to hear from you! - JeepCares

V8 for the JT with 450 ft lbs of torque and a manual trans that can tow 7500 lbs. I also like the option for manual windows and door locks. I'd really like to see the automotive industry leverage additive for more effecient heat exchangers as well as better materials for any ICE engine that...
  7. Why Lift a Mojave?

i have a few other videos of me jumping it and ripping around in the desert. The first time I jumped it I smashed the rear bump stop so bad the bracket itself smushed up into the frame. That's when I upgraded to the fox bumpstops and those have been so much nicer
  8. Why Lift a Mojave?

I have a Sport, non-s and have been jumping it for 85k miles and zero issues with the frame. Here's my most recent video as I've been developing springs for a pre-runner build that also towed 6k lbs no problem.
  9. Pre-Runner Springs - lots of rear wheel travel

Good morning gang, here is a link to a video snippet from testing last Sunday in Barstow: Here's some notes on the current design: Fronts: looking to run a slightly thinner wire so it is easier to adjust bumpstops and easily install the Synergy 1in bump stop pads. The current spring design...
  10. Pre-Runner Springs - lots of rear wheel travel

yeah, those synergy springs will let the front end smack into those bumpstops. If you can wait until June I'll have a great set of front springs, but if not I understand and would recommend Clayton's springs.
  11. Positive Spin

I've enjoyed my JT since the day i pick it up off the lot 50 months and 87000 miles ago! I've beaten the shit out of it, broke things from doing that, upgraded things, learned a ton, and coulnd't be happier. I was so excite because when it came out it was an American truck with a manual trans...
  12. Pre-Runner Springs - lots of rear wheel travel

it really comes down to personal preference. With the soft front and stiff rear I was table to tow 6000 lbs without issues. IMO the softer front makes the general ride smoother since this is a solid front axle vehicle. If you already have the Mojave I'd go with the softer front sway bar. The...
  13. Anyone have $220,000 laying around?

    https://classifieds.race-dezert.com/FOR-SALE:Dialed-in-Brenthel-6100---NEW-LOW-PRICE-198541 for example, here's a great 6100 class truck
  14. Pre-Runner Springs - lots of rear wheel travel

I went with the softest from RockJock in the front to allow for great flex when smashing though things at high speed. In the past the stock sport sway bar was too stiff and I kep shearing the link bolts at the axle. For the rear I went with their 1in thick bar initially. That when paired with...
  15. Anyone have $220,000 laying around?

All that money into the engine and the suspension is basic?! :headbang:Falcon shocks are great, I'm not trashing those. I'm disappointed that there's no coilovers+ bypass+ bump stops on all for corners for that price. For that money you can buy a used trophy truck and a brand new gladiator with...
  16. Pre-Runner Springs - lots of rear wheel travel

Confirmed I'm at 23-3/4. I'll dig up some droop photos over the next few days and highlight notes on them
  17. Pre-Runner Springs - lots of rear wheel travel

Thanks Chunky, id be interested is hearing how it works out with the rocks if you'd like to help with some testing. Mine won't be as soft, but I think it will be pretty dang good in the rocks, especially when the rear has to slap over a drop. I'll definitely be hitting the rocks soon to find out...
  18. Pre-Runner Springs - lots of rear wheel travel

Ah, I made a mistake in my last comment about pinion angle. With the pro-x upgrade there is not much movement of the pinion angle which is great. The CV joint at the carrier bearing is what sees the big change. I did a 3/4in and 1.5in bearing spacer and liked the 3/4 the best. I measured 17...
  19. Pre-Runner Springs - lots of rear wheel travel

You running the stock rear driveshaft? If so you can keep it at +1 or 2 degrees up because even at full droop with a 32in long ext shock you're under 20 deg and the CV will be fine. The springs I'm getting ready to launch don't require any spring pad, but you'll want to limit the pinion to 2...
