My last visit to my local Jeep dealer revealed that the stock Fox shocks wear out between 30K & end of warranty @ 36K. Shocks have been ordered for all four corners of my JT Mojave. I recognized the issue at around 33-34K miles. The service manager informed me that the Fox shocks are well known to wear out in what most owners would consider a too soon (premature) time frame. A TSB or recall should be considered.

The TSB for the A-Pillar water drip is also a sore spot. After a recent heavy rain, my carpet was discovered to be soaked. This - over time - will set up a mold and a corrosion issue. That TSB doesn't cover JT's built after 2020. What gives?

Last time I talked with Jeep customer service via phone, I got a Diamond Campbell on the phone. She does not know how to treat a customer, and I'm playing phone tag with her supervisor to get that remedied. I'm not real happy as a first time (Oct. 2023) Mopar/Jeep owner at this point.

I'm happy with the halogens, I don't need a light that will get covered in snow or ice.
A heating element is one more thing to fail but if vehicles come standard with LEDS, heated should come standard, without having to buy a winter package, I don't want heated seats or steering wheel either.

And yes, from a lifetime jeep fan almost born in a 65 wagoneer and lifetime CJ fan —> Gladiator is the first genuinely interesting jeep made in decades. I hope Jeepcares can realise it’s full potential.

Well, I did trust my doctor. For brain surgery. And turned out there was a massive conspiracy that was true which resulted in the entire department of Swedish medical group being disbanded. Then, in 2022 I had to have a second brain surgery because the initial surgeon I trusted in, or rather the team, caused a major problem resulting in near death that funny enough wouldn't have known about until too late had I not pressured more than a dozen other doctors of a particular situation saying something is wrong when they all didn't care enough to truly dig into the situation itself to find the source problem. So...I have trust issues. Because if I didnt dig into things myself and press the issue and see countless doctors, I would probably be dead today. But I trusted those doctors.

While I do think there are knowledgable people out there that research some really awesome things, I do not subscribe to the scientism religion. There are more viewpoints than science being the end all be all answer when much of modern science has strayed far from its original development anyway. That is not saying all science is bad. But one has to think, ponder, wrestle with, whatever it is that is on the table being discussed and ask at the heart of it all, why. Just going along with 'because science' doesn't work when so much 'science' is being done with the wrong intentions.

Why is going backwards, or stalling, in tech a bad thing? I am not suggesting this be the case, but imagine for a moment if we all were transported back to an era before the Industrial Revolution and before massive use of rare earth metals and elements. Do you think if there was never any progress at all past that point that we would still be having these discussions today of the sky is falling? Probably not... The consensus among 'the scientists' typically is that the recent massive use of modern equipment is leading to world destruction. Thats also assuming one subscribes to the scientific theories of the age and origin of the earth in the first place - of which there are many. But, all of the things we have today are because of 'progress' from the past. So if there was never progress to begin with would we be in a 'dire' situation of today? Just to spur some thought.... If the quantum computers being tested today suddenly became standard tomorrow, what else might we find that is all kinds of bad due to 'science' and 'progress' of said computers due to their massive computing power? One thing is certain, if it were not for yesterday's progress, I would not be alive today - that I can promise you. So, be careful before someone automatically thinks that I am against all progress. But one must contemplate all things.

I am not saying your opinion is wrong. I am also not saying it is right. And the same can be said for my opinion. But isn't there a middle ground in there somewhere? A lot of the world problems we have today are due specifically because of progress of yesterday. But at the same token, a lot of really amazing breakthroughs we have today are due to the same progresses of yesterday.

Ultimately I think the question that needs to be asked - which is not being asked - is, how much destruction will be necessary to come up with enough progress to solve the problem that is of concern to so many. And will the resolution be worth, or in other words, overcome, the destruction needed to get there. By this I mean - all progress requires destruction of some type. Think about the development of new metals, or new composite materials. Look at lithium batteries for example. They are down right TERRIBLE for the environment. But...is the benefit they provide enough of an offset of the destruction needed to make and use them to result in a net benefit? And to add to that, include the amount of destruction pertaining to research (the 'progress') to get to the point of a useful lithium option. For this one can and should consider the entire lifetime carbon expenditure of a 1980's truck including the man hours for research, the carbon expenditure of those workers to and from their manufacturing plants, and R&D offices, etc...as compared to the same all inclusive consideration given to a lithium powered Tesla. If the answer is that the final item, whatever it be, DOES provide a net benefit despite the destruction to get there then that progress was 'worth the squeeze'. However, if it is not, then that progress did nothing but cause more destruction. And one must also consider the length of time those newly 'progressive' items must be used in order to make enough of a net benefit that it will offset the deficit of progressing toward the next newest cool thing. But...when does it end? Why is there this addiction to a constant need for continual never ending progress? And will that continual never ending progress result in our own demise when instead we could have lived 'like the amish' (not to throw shade) and had a simple life that never resulted in the destruction of today due to the progress of yesterday? Or will there come a time when humanity collectively says 'this is enough progress'.

At the end of the day, vehicle manufacturers still must adhere to various laws of the countries they do business in. Be it right or wrong, that's just how it is. And currently, that is one of the largest drivers of progress. That and the desires of consumers, who, without the next cool tech, any auto manufacturer might find itself without enough vehicle sales to continue sustaining it's business venture.

I’m sorry to read of your experience. It’s sounds terrible. Scammers/con artists have been around since dawn of man. My experience is: they generally are the ones that talk the loudest ..

On the other hand many have successful brain surgery daily. Including my best friend, another aussie who is the luckiest man alive to reside in Houston and have had access to your world leading medical services at the University Medical Center, for his maximal resection surgery. His tumour: think of a tennis ball. 38yrs. Perhaps a few too many breaths of crude hydrocarbons when through his nose as a young guy. Who knows? Anyway ..
Another example of the world leading tech and commerce of your fine country good sir. World leading advancement in science, to be clear.

Fundamental science, we can’t pick and chose when to believe it. If you pick up a smart phone and enjoy it, get on a plane or get life lifesaving surgery - your a believer.

I’m sorry but it’s then hypocritical to deny the truth of the basic first principles of science that underpin climate science.

Inside the industry, at the engineer level ,there are no climate deniers. It’s just like being inside big tobacco in the 70’s and 80’s. Everybody knows the truth. So PHEV tech…

Your US owned IP PHEV jeep tech matters. Mileage matters. Reducing demand for oil matters.

Every gallon of gasoline burned makes about 20lbs of CO2 gas… the importance of understanding the chemistry is clear.

Anthropogenic (human) caused CO2 & Methane emissions now cause equivalent heat energy addition of something like 400-600 Hiroshima events daily being added to the planet.

So I hope it can be seen why every MPG matters. Why PHEV matters. It matters to everyone. Especially our children. Who will carry the burden of our actions.

And on the matter of why does tech need to March onwards? Ummm…Your fine free country holds the preeminent position in the world, leads the world in tech, commerce and militarily (thanks Jesus). And I’ll just say this much. If it didn’t lead the world in tech and commerce, it would not remain in charge of the world for long. Ponder that my friends. Scares the crap outa me.

Therefore I6PHEV pls Jeepcares. I’m all in all in all in. I will support your product if it contains your world leading power train tech within the classic old school platform of the Jeep Gladiator. It’s already unique and that would make it incredibly unique.
And not all of us want leather n chrome with our serving of PHEV pls Thankyou ..

I’m a fan of JeepCares. They were a big help in addressing the excessive corrosion on my 2020 rubicon which led to Jeep buying back the Jeep.

3) Solve the valvetrain issues with the 3.6 Pentastar once and for all. I get that this has been largely remedied in the current engine, but it's still there. That it only happens to a small percentage of the engines currently built is a small comfort to those it still happens to. If it happens after the warranty has expired - it is catastrophic - and is the reason I will probably get rid of my Gladiator before the factory powertrain warranty expires - and I will not buy another vehicle with that engine in it unless that issue has been 100% eliminated. Also ditch the plastic oil filter housing in favor of a metal one that will never leak/fail.

For what its worth, the valve train in Chevrolet LS (and now LT) engines has been problematic since AFM/DOD was introduced in them. I can't hardly throw a rock without hitting someone who has had a lifter collapse in a GM V8 and had to replace the cam, lifters, etc. Similar issue with MDS in the Hemi V8's. Just based on anecdotal input from folks I know - I'd say the Pentastar is no better or worse than those engines at least.

My only personal experience with the Pentastar is my previous JK (90K trouble free miles), and my current JT (8 misfire CEL's in one year, but its not eating a cam, it's likely due to a relearn needed that I have yet to pursue).

Not defending it - I'm all for a more reliable engine, and I also own a GM LS 6.2L that I disabled the AFM in hoping that it won't collapse a lifter and eat its own cam for breakfast

More than anything ? More reasonable MSRP pricing - this is the biggest reason why the gladiator isn't selling as well - a Gladiator is easily $10,000 + of a premium ontop of other midsize trucks - where other midsize trucks top the range at around say $55,000 or so the Rubicon and other trims are just getting started a $80,000 midsize pickup is kind of absurd. 2nd - ability to purchase lockers/sway bar disconnect on lower trim levels 3rd, a v8 option.

V8 for the JT with 450 ft lbs of torque and a manual trans that can tow 7500 lbs. I also like the option for manual windows and door locks.

I'd really like to see the automotive industry leverage additive for more effecient heat exchangers as well as better materials for any ICE engine that allows it to safely run higher combustion temps to improve performance and reduce emissions. The tech is still a little too expensive at the moment but what is needed is a big auto manufacturer to really drive the use of it. There is significantly less waste through the entire process which helps reduce overall pollution and that is critial for both the environment and the shareholders/customers.

My asks would be:

1. Steel wheel option - a lot of people buy 4 spare wheels to put on their Jeep because they are a solid rim that is much more immune to trail damage than an alloy wheel. No reason to not make that a factory option.

A properly designed alloy is just fine for off road use. I've had one vehicle with steel wheels in all my years of off road driving, including regular trips to Moab - I've rashed alloys, but I've never chipped, cracked, or broken one. I have, however, replaced about 7 steel wheels that got bent.

The only advantage of a steel wheel option is they are cheap, so you can spec the truck with them if you know you're going to buy a good aftermarket wheel soon after purchasing the truck.

I know in theory alloy can crack, but I've never seen it happen unless the vehicle riding that alloy was mangled beyond drivability - and in that case the wheel was the least of their worries. Modern aluminum alloys are very strong, especially the ones designed for off road use. If you have one of those ultra lightweight spindly street tuner wheels, that's another story.

The guys over at accutuneoffroad dot com said this about the warrantied Fox shocks based on me questioning the dealer replacing those shocks with the same - possibly defective, although new - units:

"At this time the Mojave is a difficult application since the Front Shocks use a different size mounting bolt than the other models of JT/JL that are NOT-Mojave.

For now, you are getting the correct replacement shocks, but look out for more releases coming soon for products that allow aftermarket shocks to fit the Mojave."
