  1. 3.6 Reliability Issues Resolved ?

If you read my prior posts in this thread - it was far from my experience. I was just raising the thread to see if Stellantis has gone with more cost cutting since then and made something worse (never heard of cam phasers failing on a 3.6 for example until I've seen posts pop up in the forums here).
  2. 3.6 Reliability Issues Resolved ?

Well it would be nice to have it 100% in those 8 months - vs 6 of those months sitting at the dealership.
  3. 3.6 Reliability Issues Resolved ?

The seating positions are very cramped - there is room - but its meant more for radios and other equipment the military would use (i.e. payload). From what I have seen they are absolute monsters off-road (not first hand account). Sure 37's aren't a big deal in the Jeep world (stock HMMWV tire...
  4. 3.6 Reliability Issues Resolved ?

Seen them on base and ridden in them before - they are far from comfortable and give you an appreciation for the folks in our service for sure. The best thing you can say is its kinda better than walking (in terms of comfort) - this has the 6.5 - but still a 3 speed (non turbo) it is dog slow -...
  5. 3.6 Reliability Issues Resolved ?

I think most of us here are in need of an intervention - my M1097R1 (HMMWV) - getting a new top - repainting it - maintenance and will see how it does on the trails.
  6. 3.6 Penstar Poll!

Personally - i just wish they had more low end tq - or Jeep offered a good diesel with bottom end grunt - shoot -i'd take something like a cummins r2.8 in a gladiator - however with all the emissions crap they strap onto modern diesels i am not sure I would.
  7. 3.6 Reliability Issues Resolved ?

I don't think i ever let the dealer do my "Jeep Waves" Oil changes either. I think I did once and noticed they overfilled it and had suspicions they didn't change the oil filter - i immediately did it myself. One of the easiest vehicles to do an oil change on. Again just to be clear - I...
  8. 3.6 Reliability Issues Resolved ?

I've put 120k miles on a F150 in 2 years - it was still running fine - however I wasn't going to take a gamble - the 6R80 was starting to have weird random hard shifts ... etc. I am starting to slow down myself - too old for the frequent long distance commutes and have a little one i'd rather...
  9. 3.6 Reliability Issues Resolved ?

I've personally never have a problem with the 3.6 - but i follow 3k mile oil change intervals - always used pennzoil/mopar recommended 0W20 - and NEVER had an issue. Just seeing new things pop up/creep up. IMO the factory oil light is something that you should never wait to come on. OEM's want...
  10. 3.6 Reliability Issues Resolved ?

'21 Willys, and and 4 different JTR's - 1 JLU. I've traded them all in before factory warranty was up. Essentially use them for work - I used the JTRs (and later my PW) to help build our cabinets in datacenter deployments etc (as part of my business) so essentially they were right offs. I...
  11. 3.6 Reliability Issues Resolved ?

I am looking into getting my 6th JT - been reading alot about roller/lifter/lash adjuster failure - now i am hearing about cam phaser issues. Has this stuff been mended ? Or is stellantis still using sub quality component suppliers ?
  12. 3 speed transfer case?

personally - i feel like the JTR is setup perfectly (especially with the 8 speed) - just leave it in 2nd/3rd gear 4LO and its like cruise control hardly ever need throttle input (and it just crawls through everything). I wish my PW had a 4:1 transfer case.
  13. News: Stellantis replaces COO and CFO. Global CEO Tavares to retire early 2026

Yeah...i don't see people lining up for either.. sorry. Total let down. A charger without a V8 is like a Burger without meat patties.
  14. News: Stellantis replaces COO and CFO. Global CEO Tavares to retire early 2026

Service is one thing - Sales is a totally different matter. Stellantis has been a disaster for all the brands under its wing - they need either 1) Totally new management and board leadership or to sell their brands off to new ownership that will actually let them realize their potential. Any...
  15. News: Stellantis replaces COO and CFO. Global CEO Tavares to retire early 2026

Not anymore they don't (sell chargers that is). So that mistake has already been made.
  16. News: Stellantis replaces COO and CFO. Global CEO Tavares to retire early 2026

Pretty sure they would be happy to offload them, as well as Chrysler and dodge - i don't see them getting rid of Ram and for damn sure Jeep unless they were absolutely forced to - IIRC Jeep is their biggest bread winner.
  17. News: Stellantis replaces COO and CFO. Global CEO Tavares to retire early 2026

I've been told buybacks by stellantis have been put on hold (due to their financial issues). Also they just shut down their proving grounds in AZ and made another bundle of stupid decisions.
  18. News: Stellantis replaces COO and CFO. Global CEO Tavares to retire early 2026

My 22 Ram 2500 (Cummins) had constant regen issues - literally the 2nd day i bought it - i then also found out that there was a fire hazard (trans dipstick recall) ...some parts ended up falling off it (As well as billet trans valve body, deep pan, thermal bypass, tune etc) - was happy for about...
  19. News: Stellantis replaces COO and CFO. Global CEO Tavares to retire early 2026

I think Bankruptcy is too soon to call - but they are doing incredibly poorly at the moment. All of my CDJR dealers are bursting through the brim with inventory... for many reasons. CDJR dealers are some of the worst scum to deal with (price gouging... etc), quality control issues as of late...
  20. New tranny at 45,000 miles. Wtf🙈

If you are worried about it - you can buy an extended warranty before your factory warranty runs out. IMO the 8 speed transmission failures are pretty rare and i wouldn't harp on it to much.
