  1. Are new cars too complex to service?

Bought a Ram 2500 4x4 new in 2003. in the 11 years I had it, it never saw the dealer and I don't know if it even had a CEL. Bought a new 2014 Ram 2500 4x4 diesel in 2014 and it has seen the dealer for mor than I want to list and has had 14 recalls. Bought a used 2014 JKUR and in 5 years never...
  2. Shop vs home install aev Mojave 2 inch + misc.

My limit line is that I can't weld or cut. Coilovers would be a pro shop install for me. But "bolt-on's" I can do that.
  3. Shop vs home install aev Mojave 2 inch + misc.

I hear ya on that one. Lots of stuff I don't do now. But I got the time and tools and knowhow so I just take my time and do it right. I want to replace lots of stuff and a shop will want to build their 4o1K with it.
  4. Shop vs home install aev Mojave 2 inch + misc.

IMO,,, if you have the ability, tools, time and any desire then do it yourself. You will learn how it works and can do field repairs better if needed. In a few months I'll be doing mine complete. I'll save a few bucks and get some exercise doing it. I'll be installing my own winch and KC lights...
  5. Not another 2" lift thread; Advice appreciated

I have spoken with Accutune and really want to use them as he knows what works. Pay once, cry once, enjoy the ride.
  6. Not another 2" lift thread; Advice appreciated

Did you use over the counter Fox? How is the ride? Part #'s please. With that long of a shock you probably didn't need much bump stop extension. I know the brackets work but I am not a fan of them.
  7. Not another 2" lift thread; Advice appreciated

I have spent lots of time rreading and calling spring and lift companies. I put a lift on my 14 JK three times. I am probably going to go Synergy springs and lots of their stuff. Synergy will answer phone call questions.
  8. Are new cars too complex to service?

I change my own oil and have never had an issue due to it. Do I really want to use the free ones so the dealer can screw up things I have to pay for?? 3 free oil changes = 3 chances to screw up something to fix later.
  9. Still waiting for @ARBUSA to get us Old Man Emu suspension for JT

Why things are going slow?? well,, there was that little worldwide pandemic. Now we got supply chain issues and can't find people to work. Australia has been locked down tight. Now we got run away inflation but we're going to build back better.
  10. Gladiators on Mopar 2" Lift Kit

Thanks for the shock info, looks like I'll not be doing the Mopar 2 inch lift. According to Q tech this kit only lifts the Rubicon JT about 1.5 inches. Also in the instructions it says that the front coils bow out.
  11. Gladiators on Mopar 2" Lift Kit

Thanks I'll be placing a deposit and order tomorrow on them. Method Double standard Machine Finish 17x8 1/2.
  12. Gladiators on Mopar 2" Lift Kit

Looks like the Mopar 2 inch lift is on the top of the lift list for me. I'll add some track bars. My caster is at 4.5 now and I want more. Looking at some 8.5 wide 17's with 0 offset but don't want them to stick way out, will they? Trying to find real info on this lift is impossible. Actual lift...
  13. What Backspace and offset?

I am looking at 17x8.5s with 0 offset. My factory wheels are even with the edge of the flares so I think centered wheels will put them at about 1 1/2 inches out. Is this correct? Are the factory wheels about 44 mm offset?
  14. Stock wheels and 35’s

My 315's are on factory 7.5s and are really Ok but I'll be getting some method 8.5s soon.
  15. Who's In The Middle? (lift)

^^^^ looks like a great build. I'll have to look at the AEV springs. I want a soft highway ride at a 2.5 lift max. I had some bad luck with the falcon's being stiff so I like Fox. I played with the floor jack lifting the JT today. I noticed that at 2 inch lift the front axle went to the driver...
  16. Ok who did this? NSFW language

Looks like a hit and run.
  17. Running Boards, Side Steps, or whatever you call them - Rubicon

I went with the Mopar Enhanced rock sliders. They are great and mount solid in the factory holes. They are pricy but make a nice step without looking like a step with added protection.
  18. Who's In The Middle? (lift)

When I lift i want shocks that will allow me to add as little bump stop spacer as possible. Keep the flex.
  19. Who's In The Middle? (lift)

I am still at 315's and no lift. Doing all the other mods first while i think about it. At first I was planning on a spacer but now I want to do the best riding 2 to 3.5 there is. I don't want stiff. I hear a lot about Mopar, usually good but a local shop says they have removed them for being...
  20. Looking for an idea for easily repairing my front bumper

That thing is held together with a bunch of screws and push clips. Watch a u tube video of replacing the bumper and it will show you how to take it apart. Easy but takes time. if you take it off, you can probably fix it. Rock Hard has some good videos.
