So if the cover does more harm than good, should all the years remove the cover? How many 3.6's have been made??? way over 10 million. That's going to fill a landfill. Maybe grind them all up and make new engine parts.
Because I really want to have my ducks in a row with the lift, I'll do the bumper and winch first. A winch will allow you to go places you can't without one and get home. Mud, snow, sand, rocks. A winch will help get through all of them without beating the rig. I am not a friend of the "send it"...
Not in the mail but on Friday I go get my HardRock full width alu bumper. That and the Mopar enhanced roc rails will pit me at $4600 with no end in sight. How do I do it??? wife left 25 years ago, both kids have passed, no grandchildren, no siblings left, don't smoke, drink, gamble, and the women...
I know both is good. But for overlanding on roads much easier than the Rubicon what one makes you feel safer?
IMO,,, being unlifted will keep you out of bad places and a winch will help you get out of bad places.
I've been Overlanding since 1970 when I got my Bronco. Back then we just called it camping or exploring. No fancy RTT's, just dirt or inside. You could make a campfire anywhere and we cooked on them. We left no trace. Life was good.
Every credit card purchase you make is on file forever. I am now 70 and I have never paid for, or had a dealer ever do an oil change, brake job, or any other service. I am not a mechanic but I could be.
Congrats!!!! If I won the Loto.................. My Dad was wrong, money does grow on trees. I just planted the wrong trees. A Gladiator with a V8 is the way it should be and would be if things were different.
I have herd by someone here that Synergy springs are made by Eibach, a top quality spring maker. Built to Synergy specs. Synergy is a softer more compliant suspension. When I go, synergy is on the top of the list, then Accutune for the Fox shocks.
It's great that this forum stays away from the hot button items as well as it does. There are other places to go for that. Here we have Jeeps. I was actually banned forever from a RV forum because I made some comments about Covid, or maybe politics. All I care about here is Jeeps.
But, I...
The plastic is needed for the Bronco roof. If our jeep catches fire it's just that much less burning plastic. Carbon credits, landfill waste, and Ford has proven that no one cares what it looks like under the hood with the 2.7. I could go on,,,,,,,,,, this is just too easy.
The 3.6 is such a thing of beauty it's sin to cover it,,,LOL.
You complain about a plastic engine cover that serves no purpose and can't be seen while the Bronco people can't get a plastic roof to hide the ugly interior.
I made a call to my wheel guy today for a set of Method Double standards in machine finish 17x8.5. We'll see what the numbers are. Might have some perfect Rubicon wheels for sale.
I have been making some calls and getting info on lift and shocks. I have narrowed it down to 3 choices for a small lift.
Mopar 2 inch lift that would possibly only be 1.5. The extended length of the shocks is still unknown.
Or,
Spacer lift front and rear 1.5. Shock extensions possible...
Ordered a set of Mopar enhanced rock rails at the local dealer. ($$$$) OUCH!!! Should get them on Wednesday. Going to do a close inspection before I accept them. There are a few others that are OK but kept comming back to these. Pay once, cry once. Now I just got to stay out of the rocks,,,LOL...
If the Mopar 2 inch lift only gets me as a Rubicon 1 inch of lift and the 2.5 Fox shocks in the kit are the same extended length, then it's really a bust for me. I want a lift that will get me more total suspension travel or it's just a expensive spacer lift with shock extensions and bump stop...
I have herd and read lots of mixed info on the Mopar lift as to ride quality and ammount of lift. I could always add a spacer for a little mor lift if the shocks have measurements that will allow it. Does the lower front CA's give you at least 5 deg caster? Seems with so many of those lifts...
