  1. Project Farm Revisits Ceramic Coatings

Very impressive, indeed! I'm a big fan of Project Farm -- and glad he has so many views and subscribers! Mostly, I am always impressed by how he sees the testing problem and the rigs he figures out to make an objective comparison. I find myself watching comparisons on products that I don't...
  2. Sound Bar Rattling, my solution

That looks good and not a hack at all! All vehicles buzz at some point (so many expensive cars have let me down in that way!). This is especially true for me since I live off of a long dirt and gravel road... Anyhow, I keep a few rubber shims around for that reason, even if just to see if it...
  3. I Think Installing the Catch Can Broke Something!

Is there a best? What makes me like J&L is OEM+ quality tubing (better than OEM in our case) and fittings...plus I buy American in the rare instances I can. :) Really even the cheapest Amazon ones are fine. I bought one and installed it on my friend's Tacoma for $35 and it works just fine too!
  4. I Think Installing the Catch Can Broke Something!

Right, and as enthusiasts -- we don't necessarily think emissions first! I had the same thought progression here as you! ;) Anyhow, for cars, think about how much "stuff" was simply dumped to the ground/atmosphere before tighter emissions. Roads were more slick on first rain, and it probably...
  5. I Think Installing the Catch Can Broke Something!

I think the idea of "tampering" with emissions is enough to keep the OEMs away from that draw. As mentioned earlier, I have only ever seen a single OEM offer a catch can (Ford Performance Parts). In that example, it comes with the expected off-road-use-only type warnings. Consider too, that...
  6. Disable Fender Lights w/Headlights On?

I've seen related threads about disabling the fender lights, and see matching JSCAN entries, but I'm trying to disable my fender lights while the headlights are on. Anyone get that to work? I've read many related, but different threads on the Wrangler forum too...nothing for my use-case. I'm...
  7. I Think Installing the Catch Can Broke Something!

I agree, and more water vapor seems consistent with colder temperature operation (saw similar comments in other forums too). No chocolate milk here in SE AZ! My fuel economy improvement is holding steady here...
  8. I Think Installing the Catch Can Broke Something!

I've had my oil J&L oil separator installed for about a week... It seems my fuel efficiency has consistently gone up over similar driving conditions. My Mojave is on 35s and it has been a while since I've seen 19MPG as my running average (probably closer to 17.5 MPG under the same conditions)...
  9. Wow!! Anyone need 5W-30? **EXPIRED**

Another fine deal, thank you. I just placed an order and I like my chances this time! ;)
  10. Wow!! Anyone need 5W-30? **EXPIRED**

This did not work for me either. They wanted to give me 4 x 5 Quart bottles only (for my four orders of six multipacks)... It was also interesting to see how the same link was dynamically redistributed. My order was 100% Walmart and not Advance Auto. My neighbor could *not get the link to...
  11. Wow!! Anyone need 5W-30? **EXPIRED**

Not yet — headed to my local Walmart soon. I told a friend and his order was directed to Advance Auto (and couldn’t change it). Theoretically, my two orders are ready for “curbside pickup after 10:00 AM” at Walmart. I paid for four six-packs…
  12. Wow!! Anyone need 5W-30? **EXPIRED**

I can see the appeal but personally do not. I've seen this debated in other threads, but have seen that some do. Apart from fuel efficiency, I could see you catching some grief for any related warranty claims. The Mobil-1 OW-20 Extended Performance (not high mileage) seems like a nice bit of...
  13. Wow!! Anyone need 5W-30? **EXPIRED**

Deal still worked for me at 06:30 MT. Picked up two orders, so yeah, really feels like a lifetime supply of 5W-30. I use it in my generators and have friends that have cars that need it. Thanks!
  14. I Think Installing the Catch Can Broke Something!

Thank you for this post. I was on the fence and just bought one. I didn't think it was "necessary" on an NA gas engine without DI... J&L should be a sponsor and offer group deals! ;) I like the OEM-style fittings and don't mind paying a small premium to get it. Anyhow, I had similar...
  15. JL Tazer Needs to go. Is there a better option

Yes. Note JSCAN is an app for iOS or Android. You’ll need an interface for OBD-2 through an SGW bypass cable (I like the low-power BT4 kind). There are lots of threads on this. The newest Tazer JL Mini plugs right into the SGW ports directly.
  16. JL Tazer Needs to go. Is there a better option

I'm optimistic! I've had similar lag in feature/value changes even doing the full reboot and two sleep cycles. That is independent of the Tazer too, of course. Just how it goes sometimes...
  17. JL Tazer Needs to go. Is there a better option

Got ya -- sorry you're having trouble. I was hoping that would do it for you!
  18. JL Tazer Needs to go. Is there a better option

Are you running firmware 11.4.4 released in 1/2023? I ask since they made major changes in the 11.4 family. Tazer JL Mini Firmware Updates That feature works on my 23 JTM.
  19. JL Tazer Needs to go. Is there a better option

True. Also, I’m sure I could build a simple timer circuit for the button toggle, but this is the easy button for me. Still, nothing for TC kill or button state memory anywhere else so far as I know. Recall our early discussion on this topic? I’m happy Tazer finally added it. The latest...
  20. JL Tazer Needs to go. Is there a better option

I agree that JSCAN is much easier to use overall compared to the Tazer. The newer BT 4.0 setup is very cool and the path I went, so ad hoc connections are easy/fast (no more fumbling with bad BT connections or strange WiFi setups). If you don't need the live functions, you are better off with...
