Right answer to be sure, but I doubt that driver had a hilift much less a liftmate…
I’d need to watch again closely but it could be tough to squeeze even a stock jack in the right spot under the axle if the rocks are positioned badly. I wish people would think about that more before switching...
Thinking about how to self-rescue that stock vehicle from that high-centered spot without calling for help. Jack up all the tires one by one and stack rocks under, to lift the stuck center skid? Drive over the spare tire?
Lower pressure will definitely cost you MPG. Higher pressure will definitely prevent even treadwear. Both cost you money (more fuel vs premature tire replacement). Up to you to do a little testing to see where the balance is, as every combination of tire and truck will be different. It's not...
Yeah? I was very disappointed with my Rock Hard rear lower shock mount skids, which literally do not fit as-shipped. I had to do a lot of modification in the machine shop to make them work.
Sorry for quoting myself but I'm following up. I ended up ordering the Bolt padlock and hitch pin lock. And actually I'm super impressed. Very heavy, really nice solid mechanical action. Comes with the moving parts packed in white lithium grease (should help displace water). The one-time...
It's been pretty normal to order and wait a few months. Mine was 13 weeks but that was in the tail end of covid, so wouldn't be surprised if it's faster these days.
If you need to spend some time in one to decide if it's for you or not, you're probably better off finding a forum member here...
new school option: peel and stick carpet squares, and a razor blade?
old school option: 3M 77 spray glue all over, utility carpet from home improvement store all over, then find the gaps with a razor blade (having inhaled too much 77 in my youth, I don't like this as much)
A word of caution - if the smart battery system decides the state of charge or voltage is too low, the OEM aux switches can be overridden and made unavailable. If your kill switch depends on seeing that aux switch turned on, you could get stuck with enough charge to start just fine, but unable...
I assume the price is in the "if you have to ask, you can't afford it" category...? Never a good sign when you have to email for a price quote. But definitely looks interesting, thanks for the link
The stock rubicon shocks are barely adequate when bone stock. Add any cargo at all and they’re lacking. Add a camper and it’s borderline hazardous to drive. Suspension upgrade simply isn’t optional with these campers
Bolt's killer feature is that their generic lock cylinder keys itself to your key on first use. They use it in the hood lock obviously, but if you've ever looked at their other products, they have other accessory locks like padlocks, hitch pin lock etc. In the process of looking into those, I...
If you frequently air down your tires, you can change the thresholds where the low tire pressure alert goes on and off. That alert is super annoying as it's constantly changing the center screen away from the screen I usually want it on
What did y’all end up doing with your stock carpet pieces? Currently have mine in the huge box the Armorlite came in, but that situation won’t hold for much longer.
One thing I'd definitely do, go deflate a rear tire all the way to zero. Measure the gap under the axle (rear because it'll be heavier than the front on all trucks on this thread, and squish the tire more) and apply a fudge factor for uneven ground. Some bottle jacks are too tall to even fit...
