I think there is going to be at least an extended cab as alternative configuration - maybe not o at launch but soon thereafter. I think the main thing to remember this is supposed to be a pickup truck and not an SUV - therefore, bed utility should be a huge factor and to me a 60 inch bed is...
Exactly- I am not opposed to the crew cab and shorter bed. I think it’s great for those who prefer that configuration. What I take issue with is if this is the only configuration offered. If so, that’s dumb and the waste of a great opportunity for an extended cab or regular cab offering that...
I hope all of pick up truck owners make a push for some alternate bed configurations for the 2020 Gladiator - because the 60 inch bed shown so far is a joke - because with a bed that short - this thing is a glorified open air station wagon!!!
I sure do hope they offer an extended cab or regular cab because this will be a lot of money to pay for a pickup truck with a 60 inch long bed!!
What the hell good is a 60 inch bed???
I could not agree more. This has a five foot bed - 60 inches!!! Really!?!
That's awful - way, way too short. Please, please make an extended cab or regular cab so there's a decent size, pick up-worthy bed!!!
My wife just got a 2018 Wrangler Rubicon 2-door with the 2.0 Turbo - factory ordered - 10 weeks for production and delivery. I have to say this little snot will go!!! I drove it Saturday and the turbo kick-in is definitely present. This is also well-suited to the 8 speed tranny.
Once again for those who may have joined this discussion just recently - I have the 3.6L in my 2015 Ram Laramie 1500 and I want to stress this point - I ordered the truck with this exact configuration as I wanted the Pentastar and it is one of the best aspects of the truck. I get about 20-21 MPG...
I own a 2015 Ram 1500 Laramie - factory ordered so I could get the truck just the way I wanted it and one of the specific items I ordered for the truck was the 3.6L Pentastar motor and to come to the defense of the "gas guzzler" motor as you claim - the Pentastar is unquestionably one of THE...
I think it is important to remember that the production of this vehicle required ripping up the old JK assembly line and replacing it with a production line for a pickup truck. The last JK just came off the line in early May so it has only been about 4 months - there is a lot involved with this...
I think this listing is very early and preliminary. This vehicle is going to have a ton of accessories and lots of options and hopefully more configurations than just a crew cab....
Message from Jay copied below and very relevant to his thread:
"We have some new info to share! First, we've confirmed the JT is a 2020 Model Year. Based on what we know, we estimate that production will begin around January 2019 and Order Banks should open around January/February 2019.
Here...
I’ll bet an extended cab or regular cab is offered if not in the first year by the third for sure. Jeep has too much invested in this platform to offe only one variant
My wife just took delivery today on this JL and it IS a turbo and it is FABULOUS!!! The vehicle itself is noticeably better than the JK in every way. Exterior and interior fit and finish is high grade. The motor is smooth and powerful and will have plenty of power for the pickup.
