What kind of MPG are you seeing now?
I have a stage 1 EOC towing tune, 35” and stock gears without a lift at a hair of 26mpg commuting to work (some city and some highway) … prior to the tune I was 22.
since you have the EOC trans tune as well, have you towed with it? Any odd behavior??? I...
Dang … impressive … I do have the ecodiesel, but with a supercharger we are probably sending the same amount of torque to the axle … my trailer is 4800lbs dry and rated up to 6000lbs.
as for your cams, have you tried nitriding, cryo, rem polish, dry film ??? Depending on the failure, there may...
Ford must be weighing the crate with the axle for that weight ... nice job weighing the D44. I am surprised it’s that light! That's not much heavier than a TJ D44. My gut tells me that I don't want that cheesy 230lb axle towing my trailer ... There's obviously some engineering that's going on...
It is a full float, but a unitized non-serviceable bearing package or hub, just like the front axle... I have the ecodiesel so I already have the long jounce tubes (which suck, rides like crap from the factory).
Anyone think that Jeep will offer the Xtreme Recon (XR) package for us gladiator folks??? I wouldn't mind a few Mopar XR parts for my gladiator, like the rear 4.56 full float axles, the correct XR wheel arch extensions, etc...
That's great information ... The Full float ultimate dana 60 is about 600lbs... I couldn't find a weight for our factory M220, but the bronco version is 587lbs according to ford...
that being said, the semi float looks real attractive with marginal weight increase. and like I said earlier, the...
Yea, I got a stage 1 PMC, stage 2 and a stock PCM. Ideally I’d go stage 2, but wanted to cruise in the stage 1 to build confidence… I’ll figure out when to go stage 2 eventually.
swapping back to stock exhaust isn’t that big a deal, however if you go all out and remove the 2 EGR coolers, you’re...
But the Dana has double row wheel bearings and stock brakes for easy replacements (I’ll never remember my brakes are from an f150 in 10 years or whatever).
all 3 have their perks. Odd they all cook this axle with a slightly different recipe
The semifloat 60 is wayyyy lighter than a 60ff and 80ff … IIRC the full float adds another 100lbs worth of stuff at the wheel ends, larger brakes, hub, bearings, larger calipers … same story with a front full float.
the 60sf and ud44 would be much much lighter, combination and all the stock...
That’s not the conclusion I came to … it seems XPD is best at wear by a long shot, close second for cetane and only “negative” is that is has potassium which in some remote corner case may inhibit the early detection of a coolant leak if you happen to regularly test your oil.
I’m gonna use my...
Nah, it’s in the menu from the factory to show the current gear … it will be a small number next to the “D”, kind of like “M” does in manual mode
They would throw in a carrier just to dangle around without mounting to anything … and no, the carrier/lockers are all the same, DANA got away with the “carrier break”
I agree, except the “housing” has gears, which also means it has a carrier … soooo, back to the $3500 I stated …
I guess the reality is we need to order one and see what’s what …
but like said, I’m gonna wait for 2026 details to come out, if the gladiator gets the XR package and they make a...
I disagree …
you cannot use SF shafts in the FF axle.
axle swappers don’t care about brakes because they too have stock brakes they can use.
buy an aftermarket iron diff cover so your used rubicon axle is sealed and bolt on ready.
and bent flanges are very common, that’s why all these semi...
Stronger in what way? Remember that chromoly shaft can bend the wheel flange, and only a single bearing is holding the jeep/wheel weight… full float the shaft is only turning the hub, and in the hub the wheel/jeep is supported by 2 bearings…
I’d argue for that a chromoly semi float is weaker...
