Usually not because the shock could bottom out with a smaller lift. I'd recommend you save up and buy parts at the same time.
Another route is to get shock extensions, where you use your stock shocks, extend those and run a 3inch lift with stock shocks. This is what the cheaper spacer lifts...
Houston is my permanent home for now. I do make it up to Toronto once or twice a year, and Sudbury every couple of years.
One of my best past times growing up over there was canoeing. Often you'd approach the end of some lakes, but it would just be some shallow soupy weeds, and you could just...
Its been years, here are some basic specs and a few pictures. I'll most more later.

btw, I'm from Canada as well. Sudbury, Ontario to be exact. That's where the outdoors & off road roots started.
Parts are on order! The ACE Engineering rock sliders were ordered at the end of December, no update on those yet. The plan is to try to sell my Ultra4/Go Fast TJ after this build is complete. We'll see though!
The TJ only has 2 seats, and the coil over hoops and fuel cell, battery etc.. is...
I've got mine on order. I went with Fox shocks instead of the 6pak. Those 6paks are going to flex pretty well! I'm curious to see how the rear will do with the short upper control arms on the JT.
The metal cloak bushings should allow some give at least!
The inline 6 4.0L is probably a decent amount longer than the 3.6L Pentastar as its a V6, not straight 6. You could probably make it work by moving things around and doing some welding. I'm not even sure if the spline count is the same to the transmission. You'd need another ECU etc.. as...
The parts that are going to be on order are...
- Artec JT Apex front axle armor kit
- RCV axle shafts
- 5.13 gears
- AEV Front/rear diff covers
- Fox steering stabilizer
- Synergy steering box brace
- Front drive shaft
- Metalcloak Game Changer 3.5inch
- Fox 2.0 shocks ( 985-24-181 & 985-24-219...
This may not be the exact answer you want. You said you wanted it for only about a year. Have you thought about renting? My old roommate doesn't own a car, instead he rents. I believe it was around $600-$700/mo. You wouldn't be guaranteed a Gladiator every time, but once in a while you...
That 2nd one would be damn near impossible on the Gladiator. Dat booty on the gladiator would be imploded from it acting like a wheelie bar in that position lol.
and wow, Vancouver, BC to Marble Falls, TX?
You know what. I'll make you a deal. Drive to Houston in your Gladiator, we go off roading at Hidden Falls Adventure park or something, I'll give them to you for $2500! ;)
I'm planning on swapping out my Rubicon axles that have around 600 miles on them. Has anyone seen the going rate for selling them? I see one set locally for $4500. I'm not sure if that's on par or not.
