I would pay the diagnostic fee if they push for it. That is work performed, though bad conclusions were the result. This should free your truck so you can jump it and drive or tow it to another dealership.
I would not sign anything other than diagnostic fee receipt letting you get the truck...
My truck was in the batch where Jeep got a bad run of batteries. A few times, the steps did not deploy because the truck had disabled all Aux switches until the charge got replenished enough. Nice to know the Aux gear won’t be allowed to suck the batteries dry. You have enough draw from other...
I power mine from Aux 1. Both 1 and two have the rated amp capacity to drive the steps so either would be fine. Aux 3 and 4 are only 15 amps, the steps need 20 IIRC, so don’t use either of those.
An advantage of the Aux switches is that the will be disabled if the battery voltage gets low. I’ve...
I’m calling BS. That section reads like it is meant to restrict the crazy “art car” colors and such. I think that page doesn’t even address reverse lights with a clear lense which we all know is acceptable.
I’d take my business elsewhere. These guys are stretching, either out of stupidity or...
I think you are missing the point others are making. If you don’t activate the ACC, the HF antenna does not matter. You don’t need to de-power the gear in the windshield box, just don’t use the features. Turn off the FCW, etc. in the UConnect screens.
I think you are over-thinking this. Just...
Another (former) RF guy here agrees. There is science behind RF transmission and reception.
Oh, and the antenna system on the BMW is more sophisticated than the simple unit on our JTs. I still run the factory antenna because I do like local AM/FM.
Run what you like, but in the name of Physics...
For Oracle’s benefit, my data point:
2020 Launch Edition Rubicon. with factory LED package built June 18, 2019.
Oracle harness into truck harness was quite tight but did ultimately click and latch.
LED taillight into Oracle harness did not go, even with several clamping approaches. 3...
PITA, yes but I’m trying to be understanding. I can easily see how QC worked because that batch of connections worked on the JTs at hand. Supplier could have mixed in bad ones or possibly Jeep. Let’s work the issue with data. I don’t think Oracle ever wanted such an issue. I can see the same...
Where I’m from, car is generic up to a point. Truck is used for vehicles (truly a generic term) meant for pickups, box trucks. Call a truck “a car” around here and folks will look at you like you are stupid. Right there with folks that call a shotgun a “rifle”. It isn’t. Appreciate accuracy...
Hard to say since things can vary, wind, elevation, your steadiness with the throttle. One should expect some gear hunting these days of 8, 9 , 10 speed transmissions.
It depends on conditions, but I’m happy with how it performs. 8th is a second overdrive. I don’t expect it to be held like some others, even at stock wheels and tires.
Uh, yeah, that was a no-go for me. There is obviously a problem with this harness where the tail light plugs in. I effed with just the plug for over an hour. Not my first automotive connector, should have taken 30 seconds. I used contact lube and several clamping approaches. There was no click...
Another consideration with soldered wires is that the edge of the solder can make that juncture more brittle. This is bad if wires are subject to vibration. Ensure there is good strain relief extending onto the wire to minimize flexing at the solder edges.
I have used synthetics in my vehicular for hundreds of thousands of miles without issue. Proper selection based on specs and using the correct amount, you will do fine. I can’t offer any real stats for comparison but have no complaints with either form of oil from a decent brand.
Do pay...
You also may be able to program a shutdown when the power stays off for a few minutes. Allow the short blips to skip shutdowns. You may find this solves your random glitches and with a bit of programming, get it all cleanly shutdown with longer outages.
