One thing missing from the photos, and I may have missed it, is a proper restraint harness with accessory seat belt adaptor. Vince weighs 40 pounds and at 60 mph, he would hit the dash, windshield or back my head/seat with about 3500 lb.f of force. Two weeks ago, a brain dead human thing...
Our local Jeep/Dodge dealer has a less than stellar street talk review. When the JT was announced, I went in to inquire with a call when in request. Crickets ever since.
Several years ago I stopped at the local Fiat dealer(different dealer) with cash in hand to buy on the spot. I rode in on my...
I remember a time when humor and good natured ribbing was the norm. Now, every one else is offended when person A does not like what person B chooses to espouse. I do believe the roots of this comes from the lack of logical thought and all things are seen through the lens of hurt feelings...
I have been riding over 50 years. Owned many makes and still do. I would not get out of the electric chair to ride a harley. Past experiences with them and the lifestyle are turn offs for me and the wife. (OCC and that gang show with Ron Pearlman)Jeeps are the same for some.
I spent a fair amount of time at the doctor's office as a toddler. 4 months premature @ <4 lbs. Rickets, Scarlet Fever, etc. The office visit always ended with a balloon for the kids. The only color I ever received was that cream sickle orange color. Even now, at 63, I can see that color and...
Not trying to soil any one's corn flakes, just a comment on Humans in general. Two pages, so far, about something described in the manual. Now I have added to that comment count. We are doomed.
Thanks for the video. I have seen it and many others like it over the years. I understand the theory of operation. My point being that the clutches must either slip excessively to compensate for wheel speed differential or stay locked and bind up the front. Probably wear out at least twice as...
The torque input comes from the different wheel speeds. The inside wheel follows a tighter radius and the outer wheel needs to spin faster to go a farther distance in the same amount of time. No power from the T/C needed. My 2cents. FWIW. Change my mind any time. Always open to the truth.
I would suppose it would work for a short while before disintegrating. The T case in 2H sends no torque to the front but the front wheels have a constantly changing speed differential due to steering input. Jeep/FCA Hello? Give us a REAL LSD option like Detroit/Eaton Positrac. They are robust...
Jeeps are great all rounders. Tow, haul or hooligan crawl. Want more capability? Mods. Want to be seen? Mods. All bases covered. Lifelong Ford Guy here but love my Jeeps for their "persona" and "part of me, strapped on" feel. (Jokes begin here) The only segment I have no use for is the poser...
Super Sarca Anchors sells a sand recovery anchor that works extremely well if you have a winch. Spray the undersides with cooking spray, silicone etc. before you get there. WD40 is not acceptable. It is a solvent. A pressure washer will drive debris deeper into areas you do not want it. A very...
The thing below the bumper is a skid plate. Note the angle of attachment. The trim panels on the sides between the bumper and fender are just that. Trim. An Air Dam is an airflow control device to help the vehicle stay on the road at racing speeds or 'hood eye candy.
Glad to have the Glad back in operation. This has been an interesting read. Almost popcorn worthy. I started soldering for real as an E Tech, USAF, 1976. I also started buying British MGs and later, Nortons that were and are a great exercise in wiring rabbit holes. (Positive ground and a ground...
