Get a weight distributing hitch and set it up per instructions. Very simple to do. I prefer Equalizer. That amount of weight will tend to push you around. Brakes on the trailer are a must. Save some hair color and hire some one to properly load it on a roll back. If none of this works, then...
Thanks for this. My trailer choice comes in about 1000 lbs. lighter with sway control. I was curious about the revs and overall feel of the rig. No Braking issues?
The only soft top running modes that look good to me are all buttoned up and doors, sides and rear window removed with the top still in place. With the top back, it reminds me of some of those ghetto mods done to look cool but hideous in execution. Unless things change, the hard top is my only...
All stations are not equal. If the submersible pump in the storage tank is oversized to compensate for high volume sales and or the flow rate is higher than mandated(5gpm), the shut off will not react quickly enough and those pesky air pockets in the horizontal line from the filler to the tank...
My reasoning is easy-I want both rear wheels powered on and off road with a torque split depending on traction and the front wheels doing the same in 4WD. Torsen or Eaton diffs look to be the answer. Ridden in many Jeeps and others of various builds and I like the geared differential...
The lack of AXLE upgrade choice has caused me to look to other brands. As capable as the JT is, I cannot justify the Rube because of the open diffs when not locked and the added bells and whistles. The lower trim levels only offer trac- loc rear (with another open diff in the front-gag) which I...
I had the thick rubber mat in my 1st and 2nd trucks. Easy to take out, clean it and the bed, and very easy on the knees. Way better than the plastic insert my current truck came with. No wall coverage though. Spray in liner will cover that for a complete belt and suspenders set up. I like.
Perhaps the items for the Wrangler series are a direct bolt up? Are the axle shafts the same for the Rubes and Sport Max Tow? Dana items all 'round eh?
4WD does not necessarily mean that all 4 wheels get power 100% of the time. IMO, only a fully locked differential Fr and Rr will drive all 4 wheels in all situations.. My YJ had a trac-loc rear with an open diff at the front. Did OK in the mild stuff and on road winter driving. Once a front...
Not an option. Search the Eaton site for info. It is my choice over track-loc but will be stuck with track-loc on the Max Tow pkg. Definitely want tru track in the front diff.
Whatever style you want, make sure the cap has the o-ring seal-a lot of them do not. I had a core fail on one of the bikes with only the cap to seal in the air.
30 years ago I was the service writer/manager for an oriental motorcycle dealership. Customer comes in with a European sold, military shipped bike with a clutch problem, a cracked hub. Called the US warranty center and got approval for repairs, parts and labor. The dealership wanted to 1st deny...
"Operating Conditions can cause the change oil message to illuminate as early as 3,500 miles" From the manual. I never have liked those extended intervals and not saying it caused your troubles but most all driving is deemed to be high load and hard on oil. Only 2 so far. Shrug. That danged...
Seems to me there is a lot of "re-torque" going on. If the parts changer just slaps it together with the air tool set to max or the "that's good enough" setting on the manual wrench, things will likely be out of spec. I know there are service folks here. How many of you actually use a torque...
Really want the manual but it has no towing capacity and the clutch was designed for limp leg weenies. I will probably get the manual anyway. Having fluid connect the engine to the gearbox is wrong.
