First of all I did not order from Bestop directly. I wanted to use a local dealer for customer service/return ease. I ordered it from local Northridge 4x4 here in Canada. They had one in stock at their warehouse in Kentucky. So it will be on the next truck heading this way.
As for the confused...
Google it or use the search feature on this site. You might find a few hundred response on this topic. Fill your mug and get a big bowl of snacks, you should be done reading…….next week.?
Had some sort of issue with every vehicle I have owned. Current count is about 30-35. Never had a perfect vehicle. Sure some were better than others, but the newer vehicles seem to have more electrical issues or gremlins. Jeep nor any manufacturer that I am aware of makes all their own parts...
I can’t see a problem doing it all from your home location. I finalized a home purchase when I was out of the country. As the saying goes…there’s an app for that. We used Docusign. Scratched my signature on a few legal docs on my I Pad. Done deal.
Exactly.
When we sold a hitch, be it 5th wheel, WDH, or just a damn insert into an existing hitch receiver, we set it up for free. It was just good business.
$600 to install the bolts and set up the bars is amazing to me.
All of which take maybe 15 minutes?
That’s a $2,400 an hour labor charge. Wow!
Well I have personal experience of doing a required maintenance flush on a Subaru only to have problems “after” the flush. Why, apparently from a knowledgeable mechanic “sometimes” a flush will dislodge unwanted crap into the transmission. The recommended way is to do a dump and fill, drive 50...
Two totally different animals.
Comparing the shapes may be a reason for the differences.
Looking at the location of the sensors ability to their thing in a box versus a rounded object may provide the answer. I know my Volvos
reaction time/sensitivity is different than the JT.
Well on this, if they have had issues with this same dealership, why continue to give them your business? At what point do you wait for them to mistreat your family member again? You say they are petty enough to take it out them. Read that sentence again, and ask yourself why you are going...
Follow the manuals recommended service intervals while under warranty. You may not like it, but it’s the requirement for a valid warranty. At least in Canada it is. You Americans have that funky clause which I can’t remember the name of, where if a mod and such does not directly relate to a...
Consider the old dealership history, no longer relative moving forward.
Now the new supposedly better dealership “can” make this right. Give them the chance and go from there.
I am sitting next to a Stellantis (ugh) Service Manager right now. This is her advice. I trust her and let her snore...
$600 is ridiculous. Drive it home, spend the winter shopping for a decent WDH and a few bucks more for a sway control and do it yourself. Countless videos online how to “tune” (new term for me) a WDH. Borrow, rent a couple of wrenches and your fine. $1600 for a WDH and install is outrageous...
Oh I am relaxed don’t you worry about that. I just mentioned it as I have seen many a farmer/shadetree mechanic repair in my days.
Good on you for getting the right bolt, was not aware you were on the ball, it’s hard to tell sometimes.?Stealerships make big money on overpriced parts.
