This was yesterday, a run from Big Bear to Pioneertown down Burns Canyon. It being desert season, it was the quietest I've ever seen the trail. I was once again the lone Jeep where the rest of the group drove Toyotas.
I keep the interior clean, treat the leather surfaces, and will wash bugs etc off the windshield occasionally. The exterior has never been washed as I wheel every weekend. I acknowledge I should probably do a better job of caring for the exterior finish, but it literally sees dirt every weekend...
Never thought of a long gun for solo desert adventures, my 1911 is usually my companion. Along with my alarm system, Ranger, an Australian Cattle Dog. I'll need to look up the post you mention as that sounds like a sweet set up.
I would like to add the current Owlcam to the list of devices which record to the cloud without the need for WiFi. It records both in and out of the vehicle and alerts of any movement, similar to a Ring doorbell cam.
And to the OP, thank you for your service sir.
The Evolution is sweet! I can't fit any bedding in mine either. Had the Evolution been available when I bought I think I'd have made the same decision and still bought the Odyssey. Being a desert dweller and camper I like being able to point the hard side at the wind to quiet things down. My...
I use the Coyote tire deflators. They're local'ish to me and preset them to your preferred PSI. They've been accurate and reliable for me.

Thank you for the information! I've been eager to do this just to break up all the silver up front; I personally prefer the all black grill. Well done on your work, and I'll make note of all the clips as I have the camera to deal with as well.
None whatsoever, and I wheel every weekend. Mind you I'm an overlander, not rock crawler, so much of my off road time is limited to fairly well maintained forest roads, up to moderately rated trails where I'm very careful with my line and speed.
There's a few ways you can go, from budget options to higher end ones. I have a Rugged Ridge Arcus, and went the Tuffy flip up license plate mount. Low cost, hasn't failed me, and satisfies my state laws of having license plate up front.
I'm quite satisfied with my choice. I went with the Freespirit Odyssey, which is a hard clamshell that opens on the side. My main reason for selecting this is I often camp in windy environments, and being able to have the hardshell aimed at the wind gives me a much quieter night's sleep. This...
I live in the desert and air down almost always. It's especially helpful in deep sand as the lower tire pressure will expand your footprint and allow you to "float" over the sand.
To your earlier question about on board air vs portable, keep in mind there are higher end portables like the...
Yes, but it will essentially be the same liners zip tied to certain points. @JeepCares follows this thread and is pretty responsive. I will tell you though my experience in this process was not the best, which was not so much with the person(s) monitoring this thread but with the Jeep Cares...
Installed Ace Engineering fender liners to replace the flimsy stock ones. I was one of those who unfortunately suffered the issue of the stock liners getting torn as they sucked into the tire in windy environments, so went aluminum. This after a lot of back and forth with Jeep Cares, but that's...
