can you share where you are getting 30% from? using the listed EPA numbers from Rams website, I found the Ram 4x4 3.6 is rated at 23 highway, and 4x4 3.0 is rated 27 highway, 30% would put it over their EPA number they listed for the eco diesel.
ethanol free gas is hard to come by around me...
Just for fun, I've been doing some math on this Gas VS Diesel subject. For me, I want the fuel efficacy of the diesel to save me money on fuel. I have come to the conclusion that the diesel is intended for those who either A: are looking for lots of torque for off-road, or B; need a grater range...
that is exactly what I would like to avoid haha. I just got the factory one for my ram and the interface is very small.
Installed next to the cargo plug button? Or is it going to take one of the 4 extra AUX buttons?
This spot looks pretty prime to me.
.
I hope it will be integrated aftermarket like on the ram. pop out some plastic somewhere and have a nice button. I would even pay for a plug in black box and use a screen to adjust the settings. I just dont want to drill holes and hang an ugly box somewhere much like DesertDog.
Was the question...
its a lot of fun! and pretty exciting that you can show what you are working on. As soon as they showed the GMC Serra Denali we pealed all the camo off within hours when we were out west. No more "what the hell is that?" looks haha.
My best guess is it has to do with liability/durability. OEM has to protect for everyone (unfortunately, us who know when to turn them on and off have to suffer). I see this being acceptable on the JT because of the "Off road plus" button, essentially acknowledging that yes, I am no longer on a...
Just noticed that the wheels from the black one are missing the machined highlights. Possible "back out" package like whats available on the ram big horn?
How so? as of now, you cannot buy a Ram 1500 with an extended cab, only quad and crew.
So if RAM says on their highest profit vehicle, it aint worth it, how can less volume equal more profit at a cheaper selling price? (logically it would have to be priced lower because you know... less doors...
well, im actually going to have to agree with you here. Sure there will be an extended cab jeep truck.... but its not going to come off of a FCA production line, and its going to be a modified JLU.
Just adding another reference to your comment, Tim Kuzniskis also stating "if you cant sell enough volume to pay off the investment" 14:55 into the video below
I feel I can give some words on this since I currently have a 2018 ram with the 3.6 3.55 rear gear. (and a JK with the same engine)
I have towed a few times with it, heaviest so far being my 93 BMW E36 on an open u-haul trailer. No problems at all up or down hills, held 72 with cruse control...
Why would they drop to a 6 speed? that would cost a lot to tool up a new housing or block just for JT.
Factory integrated brake controllers are available in Canyon and Colorado, along with diesel exhaust brake. It also is a metric/ and boosts capacity for max towing. Why would the JT not have...
there is a lot of testing that go into that number. Truck trend has a article explaining some of it. if you want more technical view, there is a thread on a F150 forum with lots of good engineering insight.
