Added some courtesy lights to the newly installed LOD sliders. Found the correct wire to tap on the JL forum (sort of). It is the yellow/purple stripe wire on the under dash light. They come on when I unlock then fade out when locked or door closes.
My buddy has a white JL and the red dash looks very nice. In my JT it is painted to match the exterior (sarge) and also have the inside of the hardtop painted black. Think it makes a big difference for interior looks.
This hydro dip looks really good if you want some type of design...
Was at the dealership a couple weeks ago and spotted this Earl JL. It photographs well and love the pics I have seen of the color. Did not like it as much in person. Was more of a baby or sky blue. It was nice, just not my cup of tea...
I have been reading up on them, but seems like they all cause a CEL probably due to a change in vacuum pressure. The Mann Provent appears to be the go to for other ecodiesels. Haven't seen any write ups on Rams, JLs or JTs that dont throw the light. Would be nice if there was one to keep excess...
Hidden wires for phones and Bulletpoint mic holder.
I had the mic holder that mounted behind the grab rail area. It was fine but every time you put the mic back it turns the radio channel. Was a little annoying. The Bulletpoint mount is to the front and can be rotated in many positions. Like...
LOD Destroyer sliders installed - replaced Ironman 4x sliders.
The Ironmans were good. Took a beating on the trail and no issues other than dents in the lower tubing. Wanted something a little stronger and also with a step. The Destroyers are out and what I preferred over the LOD aluminum...
That is my understanding as well. Removed all that plus exhaust delete and cant tell any difference at all from stock. Maybe a little extra clackty clack, but probably in my mind.
A bunch of us have done the vent cut outs and removed the engine cover/foam packing on the top of the motor. Wonder if this might be a case where that makes a difference. Heat could have exited the top vents while sitting in traffic and also when parked. If you have done all that it nullifies...
I had one of these Jeep branded Livin Lite trailers and regret selling it. Wasn't a hardcore off-road trailer, but was excellent quality and we got a ton of use out of it. Fractional cost but hard to find anymore. Moved up to an AT Overland trailer that was cooler and purpose built, but actually...
Thanks for the info. I think I can log the info on my scanner's app. Agree, seems like not enough load to be causing the errors. Will post up when I make my next attempt. Supposed to be camping in a few weeks up past Ventura and want to make it - nothing better than camping by the beach in December.
That's pretty high! Good to know you have a little wiggle room on derating if not towing. Used my 5thgen Ram to pull in the Sierras over the summer and oil temp was over 250* on the hemi.
Over the weekend hooked up our TT (no water, very little gear, truck only me, GVW fully loaded up is 5,500) and took a quick test spin. Did maybe 15 miles, 64* out, some small grades but nothing of significance. Was just about home and oil temp went up to 249 on the dash - Service Electronic...

Do these charge pipes help in any way cooling air temps? Or would wrapping the stock pipes help, etc. If those are dumb question be kind :)
