What no posts here in a week? Bumped to page 2? This cannot stand. Winter finally came to Anchorage. Got enough snow in a day to go sledding with the kid finally.
I think the manual up/down driver seat is pretty cool vs power. Manual 6 way adjustable seats it's just unique. I wish the passenger seat was adjustable for height too. The seats themselves are great I have the cloth Rubicon ones.
I was in the same boat. MSRP only dealer unless I wanted to drive 1800 miles through another country to get one under MSRP. So I was ok with MSRP. I had a trade in that I needed to keep until the dealer had my Gladiator. Harley season had ended. I sold my K5 to help get funds for the Gladiator...
I like the R lockout. The JK doesn't have one so when I first got it sometimes I would accidentally grind R instead of going into 6th. I very delicately shift into 6th on the JK now. I feel the lockout ring and putting R nowhere near 6th was a great improvement.
Yeah you can't get the Max Tow with the manual. The manual can't approach the amount of weight the auto can pull so there just isn't much point in giving it the option. When I was debating going Sport S the way I wanted it optioned vs. a Rubicon the way I wanted it there was a 3k dollar...
Yes I kind of gave up trying to have smooth starts and just started giving more gas. Makes me seem like a dick I'm sure zooming off at every light but I won't stall in traffic at least. I do prefer my wife's JK 6 speed to this one. I like the shifter feel of the JT better but definitely not the...
A lot of us on this thread had to wait for order banks to open. I put my deposit down on June 16th and got my pickup September 18th. But the car was not orderable until July 17th or something like that. So 8 weeks is probably reasonable at this point. Ordering appears to really have smoothed out...
My mileage has gotten considerably better as everything is breaking in. Bottomed out at like 14.something and now I'm at 17.2. with 1700 miles. I hope it goes higher. 20 would be fantastic but 18.5 would be cool. 400 miles to a tank would make me very happy.
Yes once you start getting the 7" screen an anti spin diff on a Sport S etc to get something comparable to what a Rubicon offers you are within dollars. It really doesn't make much sense to get the Sport I think unless you get the bare bones Sport with roll up windows and the older 5" screen...
The gears are weirdly spaced I agree. In normal driving 30 or so in 2nd would be over 3k rpm so you go to 3rd and it drops to like 1800 lugging the engine. I can set the cruise at 37 in 3rd and be fine though. I can use 4th at anything above 45 hills or flat ground. If they had a gear between...
It might have something to do with the auto start and the engine start stop systems having a glitch. Mine does screwy things. I have a manual so I don't have an auto start but my start/stop seems to have a mind of its own. I try to get it to work letting the clutch out in neutral brake pressed...
The 8.4 gets you offroad pages, the bigger screen and the ability to add the trail cam. Android Auto and Apple Car Play gets you the other functionality on the 7.0. Google Maps is going to be much handier than any auto mfg nav. But if you want the offroad pages screen, or the ability to add the...
The LED taillights are not standard on any of the trims. My Rubicon has the same taillights as your Sport. If you have power windows you have an S. That's the easiest way to tell for the layman.
It looks like a weird conversion to me. Who made it? Why wouldn't you make the back window one long window? Is there power to all 3 axles? Lot's of questions on this one.
Yes Ford definitely were the first power down rear window. It was available on full-sized Mercury's. My dad had a '64 Monterey with the Breezeway window. It was pretty gimmicky but was neat none the less. I have the retractable window on my 4Runner and we do use it. The dogs like to hang out in...
The Ford people are just as brand loyal as the rest. My dad was still using his '05 Ranger until the new one came out. The Tacoma is going to be hard to dethrone as the king until the Gladiator has proven itself to be a surefire pickup you can depend on as long as a Tacoma. But I think it's...
