Once you have a powered fridge you'll find you use it for stuff other than camping. I've done road trips for work and taken it with groceries for the week and drink/snacks for the trip. Around the holiday's our house fridge gets full and we put the overflow into the Dometic.
I have Granite Crystal. I would have liked white but my wife's JLU is white and I didn't want two of the same. The black/white contrast really looks good. Blue would have been my other choice but dealer didn't have any. I'm very happy with the Granite Crystal though.
DD but I have intentions of heading out west to tour off-road thru Colorado, Utah, AZ. Not looking for challenges off-road but want the capabilities should I encounter something between me and where I want to go.
I went the dual option route. I put an electrical box in with a DPDT switch. I plug my fridge into a cigarette outlet on the box and then select the power source. It can be either the truck battery while I'm driving or a Bluetti EB70 when I'm at my destination.
I'm in the exact same situation as DanW. Falken MT on JLU, X3 on JT. They're both a little noisy as you slow down around 10mph to a stop and you feel the lugs. But at normal speeds I really don't see either being an issue. The JLU is a soft-top and we converse just fine. Whatever noise...
I went into the frame rail on drivers side by front tire. Came out in the back and up to a hole in the back of the bed. Here's some pics. I got 5 10 gauge wires thru the hole in bed with a grommet.
I went down the drivers side because my sPod BantamX mounts on that side.
Comes into bed here...
