  1. So long, farewell (traded in JT Overland)

Well... yeah. Any full-size truck is going to tow better than our mid-size. Apples to oranges.
  2. Scout to return via Volkswagen

One of the few vehicle manufacturers with a worse reliability record than Jeep. LOL! Hard Pass.
  3. Auxiliary Battery Swap

Oh HELL yeah... that's definitely how I'm gonna do mine when the time comes. Thanks for posting that!
  4. Rare colors

Yes it does. LOVE my Hydro Blue... get compliments on it all the time. Looks nothing like Walmart blue.
  5. So long, farewell (traded in JT Overland)

That's a great-looking truck... congrats! Best of luck in your eventual retirement.
  6. Work commute cut to just 1.5 miles... Should I be concerned with constant cold tranny?

Gotcha... the baby definitely changes things. So what's your TOTAL commute distance including the excursion to grandma's? Remote start is definitely nice... love it... but idling the engine doesn't do anything to warm up the transmission and the rest of the drivetrain.
  7. Work commute cut to just 1.5 miles... Should I be concerned with constant cold tranny?

Dude, I would totally WALK to/from work if I lived that close! I walk my dog over three miles an average of three mornings a week before work. Luckily, I get to work from home every other week.
  8. Last Jeep wave oil change

No way... dealership service departments ALWAYS put their newest/clueless guys on things like oil changes. I had a bad experience at a Dodge dealership years ago with my brand new Durango. Never again. My Gladiator will never see the dealership service department unless it's for a...
  9. 20th anniversary Rubicon 4xe shows new grille design

Meh... not a fan. I think it looks OK, but I prefer seeing the body color in the grille between the openings - like Jeeps have always had (with the exception of the all chrome or all black front end on some models).
  10. Don't Open Your Email From Quadratec! (It'll Cost You)

I got my $129.76 (shipped) MOPAR All-Weather mats the other day and just installed them. They appear to be authentic. Mopar sticker on the box, MOPAR instruction sheet, MOPAR part# and "Made in USA" molded into the backside of them, etc. Obviously any/all of that could easily be faked, but they...
  11. 2022 JTRD stolen from driveway (don't let it happen to you)

Very true if your vehicle is stolen by a professional, but in that case, it's going bye-bye regardless of the method you use to try to prevent it. If they want it, they're getting it. Period. The Air Tag could definitely be helpful in the case of a local thief or some kid stealing it for a...
  12. A Jeep Tech, Mechanic, & JT owner answers reliability questions

I wasn't saying the Govt should be involved... only that they are. They have been ever since the automobile was invented and they will be until the next extinction event. We don't have to like it, but those are the facts of the matter.
  13. A Jeep Tech, Mechanic, & JT owner answers reliability questions

Very true. I suppose it would be worth installing a pair of high-quality batteries the first time one/both of them die after the warranty expires just to see if they last any longer before ditching the aux battery & ESS. I guess I'll make that call when the time comes... IF I even keep the...
  14. Jeep 3 piece Suit.

I'm sure I (a slightly overweight balding 58-yr-old man) would look great in those! LOL!
  15. A Jeep Tech, Mechanic, & JT owner answers reliability questions

Yes, I agree... but the general consensus seems to be that the aux battery fails first (and more often) and then proceeds to kill the main battery. That may be pure speculation on most peoples' part... I don't know... but regardless, I still wish they'd put the aux battery in a more accessible...
  16. Jeep 3 piece Suit.

I don't have any Jeep apparel yet, but am new to Jeeps... just got my JT a few months ago. That said... if anything, I wouldn't mind having a relatively low-key hat. Maybe one with the Jeep grill & headlights logo on it... but the only one of those I can find has it off-center one one side of...
  17. A Jeep Tech, Mechanic, & JT owner answers reliability questions

Jeep didn't do it for us... they did it for themselves... for their Corporate Average Fuel Economy numbers - that the Govt. is making more restrictive all the time. If they can think of a way to eek out 1-2 more MPG from any particular vehicle, you better believe they'll do it - no matter how...
  18. Don't Open Your Email From Quadratec! (It'll Cost You)

Yep, there is certainly some of that on Amazon - though not nearly as much as what you’ll fine on eBay. I’ve been shopping at Amazon since the late 90’s - when they only sold books - and I’ve been happy with them for the most part ever since. If I ever do buy anything from them that I’m not...
  19. Don't Open Your Email From Quadratec! (It'll Cost You)

Does that mean the even less expensive one (before shipping) one from BAM is too? Doubtful.
  20. Death Wobble settlement agreement in class-action case could mean reimbursement for some Jeep owners

Even nearly-new completely stock ones (as I've read happening with nearly new stock Gladiators)? Not hating... honest question. I'm new to Jeeps and 4x4s in general, so I'm learning more about them every day. Thankfully no issues with mine yet at just over 6k miles - with plenty of highway driving.
