Thatās probably exactly it. Itās usually not a problem when commuting because I have to take time to grab my backpack/computer out of the back when exiting the vehicle. By the time I do that, itās ready to lock. Other times, when I just get out and am ready to walk away, I just have to wait a...
Yeah, I know that works - as stated in my OP. My past few vehicles have had proximity keys and Iām in the habit of locking by touching the handle (or simply walking away in the case of the Corvette I recently sold. Wish the JT would do that).
? Yep, I push only the button with the tip of my finger. Itās like push⦠nothing. Wait a sec⦠Push again⦠nothing. Then I *think* I hear something click somewhere in there (will pay closer attention). Push again⦠horn beeps, locks actuate⦠walk away.
Thanks for that reply. Yep, Iām very careful to touch only the button⦠Jeep is brand new, key fob battery is apparently strong⦠it unlocks immediately and I can remote start it from a mile away (well⦠at least 30 yards away when I start it from my bedroom window anyway LOL). Itās like something...
My new ā22 Sport S has the proximity key locking/unlocking feature. The UNLOCK function works great, but when I park and get out of the thing and push the little button on the door handle to LOCK it, it does nothing for a few seconds. If I stand there and keep pushing it, eventually the horn...
Well⦠yeah. Ambient light sensors like the one on the Gladiator dash have been around since the mid/late 90ās (if not before). My 87-yr-old motherās 1999 Buick LeSabre has one! ? If you cover/block it, the headlights will come on.
I thought for sure the GG in my three-week-old Gladiator was toast yesterday when I caught a rock on the interstate. Luckily I was taking an exit and had slowed down to about 50 MPH when I heard that sickening *POP* and I SAW the rock (maybe a half-inch in diameter) bounce off. Iāve looked...
Ok, cool. I just looked it up and the GB40 is a 1000-amp pack. There are much larger capacity ones available (with proportionately larger price tags). For example the NOCO GB250 is rated at 5250 amps and retails for $1099.99 - on sale today for $799.99. Contrast that with an āAvapowā branded...
What size NOCO pack do you have? Just curious because Amazon has some good Cyber Monday deals on these today and Iām thinking of upgrading from my current generic Chinese 1200A unit.
Thanks for that reply⦠itās hard to argue with actual first hand experience. I guess those jump packs are great for jumping ONE dead battery, but not quite enough to jump TWO of them at once. I may have to invest in a higher capacity one (the highest I can find) to give me a better chance of...
Just adding another āme tooā data point here⦠I have a ā22 Sport S w/technology package⦠currently just under 5k miles. I usually leave the center display on the fuel mileage display and Iāve have the instant MPG disappear several times - only to reappear the next time (or so) I drive it. Canāt...
I understand why ESS exists and Iām fine with it. I can push the button to turn it off if I want - and sometimes I do. I also understand that batteries die - often without warning⦠which is why all of my vehicles have jump batteries in them. I wonāt whine and complain WHEN my batteries dieā¦...
It does work. Batteries die. They just do. It doesnāt cost much to be prepared. If you can afford a $45k-$70k+ truck, you can afford a $50 jump battery for WHEN that happens.
Is that true?!? Wow... I wanted it at first because I assumed that it was significantly stronger than normal glass, but after reading on here how it doesn't seem to make much difference in the frequency of cracks/chips I was ambivalent about it... didn't really care if I got it or not. The...
I was also anti-ESS before I understood how the system works and that the starter was beefed up to handle the extra work. I don't mind it now... leave it on most of the time. Better fuel mileage and less emissions... win/win. I don't get the fear around being stranded somewhere by a dead...
Do these have electric in-tank fuel pumps? I assume they do since most (all?) new vehicles do now. If so, something to keep in mind is that the fuel pump is cooled by the gasoline in the tank. If you make a habit of always running it down to fumes before every fill-up, you're shortening the...
Gotcha⦠thanks. I knew the windshield rested on those when you fold it down⦠just assumed the bumpers would hit the windshield header when you open the hood all the way too⦠but itās not like they both pivot on the same hinge, so it makes sense that they move in different arcs. Thanks again for...
No, theyāre centered on the ends of the bumpers - probably where that end is bolted to the hood, not above them where the hood would hit the windshield frame (I thought the bumpers hit the windshield frame).
sounds like Iām overthinking it and itās just a Jeep Thing. Thanks guys!
