Went from an '06 Wrangler Unlimited to a Gladiator. Had to get new plates and new EZ Pass tag, rather than transfer them, because I went from a "wagon" to a "truck".
Crawl under the vehicle and look where the axle ends just inside the wheel edge. if you see oil at the lowest point, or traces of oil on the wheel and around the tire, you've found the problem.
Sucks to waste the hour or so, but they have to see it and get it in the system so they'll get their parts and reimbursement and maybe FCA will finally see there's a problem.
Bone stock, 3.6, automatic, with 600 miles on it we went to Florida. 3237 mile trip, mostly highway, lot of stop & go traffic around Miami and DC, did some 3-5 mph sightseeing (Loop Road, Big Cypress Preserve). A/C on constantly, rarely used the start/stop. Average for the trip was 24.6 mpg!
For anything on top of any skids. I use a wand that screws (used to water hanging plants) onto a hose and I replaced the "shower head" with a "jet sweeper nozzle". This also works well to clean mud and muck out of the frame. For the rest of the underside, just park it over an oscillating lawn...
Had a 15 year old LJ that had been well built & wheeled over the years. Little things were starting to go, so I figured I was due. Had enough to put down so I could get and easily afford 0% for 3 years, so I went for it! First vehicle I ever spec'ed out and the first one with an automatic in...
I've been reading about this, so I decided to look under and sure enough, right rear axle seal (built 4-21) is leaking! I really think someone should have gotten to the bottom of this by now!
Getting back to the tire diameter, I would expect the manufacturer's stated diameter is probably measured with max tire pressure, no weight applied, and a specific wheel width.
I have the selec trac in my Overland. Basically it adds the option of an all wheel drive. You don't have to use it unless you want to. I get the impression that it's a wise choice to use if the weather's sketchy. Using it all the time is probably a waste, and will not be economical.
Had an '06 LJ that I did the rock crawling thing in for almost 15 years, so this time I was looking for more creature comforts. I went for the Overland. And yes, it won't stay stock for long. In the next month or two I'll be doing the 1 1/2" front spacer, Rock Slide step sliders and Artec...
13 miles on it. Dealer said they put at least 10 miles on 'em to make sure things work as they're supposed to. Had it 2 weeks and 600+ miles, all's good so far!
Two weeks old and all I've done so far is door edge guards, wheel locks, Mopar rubber mats and sill entry guards. On the other hand, there's some Rock Slide steps, Artec Skids, and the Terraflex front spacer kit on order....
