3000ft lbs sounds about what my body bolts were installed to from the factory. Lol!
Pssshhh,,,, a harbor freight impact socket and breaker bar with a 10’ length of pipe. Easy peasy!
I wonder if anyone was behind them when that motor puked it’s guts out the bottom at highway speed. Watch out for cartwheeling pistons, connecting rods and block parts!!
Hey @eight13design any issues with new set up of yours getting rained on? I Like the design and location but without a cover on the bed I’m worried about how protected the compressors and richer switches would be from the elements.
I wish they would make a true Detroit for these trucks. None of the available options are without serious drawbacks. The ox is the best of the bunch but having to use either their air or electric activated actuators kind of defeats the advantage of a pure mechanic system.
Ordered a set of motobilt diff covers to replace the chintzy factory ones when I regear. They deliver in the white. I’m thinking about having them powder coated but then thought about the inside of the cover and the sealing flange. I would think these would be best left raw. Agree? Can you have...
You know you have to take it all apart except for the winch plate to actually install the winch, right?
I held off on installing it until I had everything cuz I knew it would be a pita to do it later. Just sayin.
@DaleG- how much distance is there from the bottom of the 2x4 to the top when you are lifting off ? I am trying to minimize mine because of clearance issues in the garage. I don’t think it’s possible to have it touching but I have almost 12” now
Finally got mine installed today. It works but not real happy with it fir a couple reasons
1. Strap length are a bitch to figure out. Too long and I have clearance issues, too short and I can’t get the webbing attached. Plus you’ve got to find the right length on both front and back in order...
Yes. I’m about to mount a Mojave skid under my Arcus. My heep is a sport. It requires 4 specific brackets, a couple nutserts and 2 different sizes of bolts. There’s a on going thread here about it. Search rubicon steel skid and you’ll find it. It has all the specific part numbers you need.
I would agree with all of this except the that a Spool is the ultimate traction device. Lockers such as a Detroit still ratchet and allow for some differentiation. A spool allows for zero under any condition. Great for the drag strip or the stop light boogie, not so good for anywhere else.
