Huh weird. Instead of taking it I and out of cruise you could also move the Shifter to M and put it in 8th yourself.

Do you by chance have the Shifter pushed over to the manual control? If you do it will hold that gear with cruise on as best it can.

Interesting to hear you say that. I was told I was worried about nothing on this forum when I said I was worried about pinion input speed as the justification for why I went with 4.56 gears as opposed to 4.88s or 5.13s
