Do the side doors on the cap still open with the awning mounted like this? I picked up the same awning during this sale and am just now getting around to moving it from the trailer to the SmartCap.
I threw together a quick bar setup with some extrusion I had lying around, but I need more height...
Beyond what the previous posts mentioned (which is also great advice, IMO), I always refer folks back to this video when diagnosing front-end issues on solid-axle vehicles.
The sheer number of solid axle Jeeps around here makes waving at all of them an exercise in futility, lol. I don't believe I have ever seen area specific sales/ownership data but it sure feels like every third vehicle I pass on a two-lane.
The only thing that outnumbers the solid axle Jeeps are...
I had to do some cutting to make them fit, and I'm also not sold on the aesthetic. But if they stop me from destroying my rear fenders every spring I'll probably live with it.
Those wheels are pretty sweet. Reminiscent of the Stewart & Stevenson LMTV wheels......which is another abandoned...
I do love a good skinny tire. I have a set of LT255x85R17 (35x10 but with an 8.6" tread width) Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/Ts on the OEM Rubicon Wheels. I switch back and forth between those and the steelies and mud-terrains in the previous post if the truck is going to stay on pavement for any...
I am one of those owners. I don't really track MPG in this truck, but when I happen to scroll through the dash menus and catch a glimpse of the current MPG it's nowhere near 19/15. I am guessing I would be lucky to see 14 avg combined, lmao. Maybe the auto trans does a better job choosing...
Well, it may not be a relevant comparison considering they are on trucks that don't get driven/maintained in the same way or rotated as frequently as this Gladiator. That said, it was mainly balancing issues that snowballed into bad wear patterns, then things obviously got loud. FWIW, two sets...
I picked up a set of 37x12.50 Firestone M/T2s last year. I admittedly have no clue if they make them in 20's, but the tires themselves have been surprisingly well-mannered and remained quiet on the road (at least in direct comparison to the Trail Grapplers we have on another of our trucks)...
Do the Mojaves have bed-sliders? Probably need to unbolt those as well. Mine were a pain, but for reasons involving and air compressor, and probably not relavwnt to OP's ask.
The tow hooks are sandwiched between the bumper and the frame rail. Through bolted. No way to removbe the hooks without also removing the bumper, unfortunately. On the bright side, it's not all that hard to do in your driveway with hand tools.
These from Amazon are what I ended up with. Sometimes the Chinese stuff is garbage, sometimes it's not. These fall into the latter category. They rotate to give a wider view when needed, and I have never had an issue with them towing our small trailers.
