You, me, all of us - life ebbs and flows. I had two back-to-back Jeeps and loved them... fifteen years ago. Back then life opened a different chapter and I went to SUVs for a decade and a half; this year, a new chapter opened and I went back to Jeep and got a Gladiator. From your description...
A manual with 37"s might as well be a 4 speed, lol... a functional 5th and 6th is like a faded memory. Would be nice to get those back plus a little more pep overall. I was so close to going with 5.13s, after admitting to myself that my future off-road adventures will be minimal at best, figured...
I'm going with a regear of 4.88s. I figure if I chose to go with 5.13s the price wouldn't be drastically different. Quote received yesterday was $2305.11 (Revolution Gear & Axle D44/D44R Gear package - JT: 4.88s + labor).
We're in a similar position. My 3rd Jeep, my 1st Gladiator.
Perspective.
Ford - FoundOnRoadDead. That's bad. Any way you cut it, that's bad.
Jeep - JustEmptyEveryPocket. Those outside the Jeep world think that's bad, those in the Jeep world... smile... nod... and continue to save for the next...
The dashcam is plugged into the "cigarette lighter" power source. The radio is plugged into my Jackery. I have it setup this way as to not draw from the vehicle battery as I sit and chat while the wife putters around doing her shopping (which can take a long, long time. Ha.)
I have the FTM500DR predecessor, the FTM400DR. Kinda wish I didn't see your post, lol, now I'm itching to upgrade. :) My setup is an NMO on my rack, the base is strapped to the back of the drivers seat, mic and faceplate upfront on a bulletpoint system.
Much appreciated on the feedback. I saw the process regarding manuals on the Tazer site in terms of resizing tires; didn't realize it affected regearing as well.
Question. If your Gladiator was a manual, would reprogramming the regear with the Tazer make a difference at all? (i.e. is there some sort of extra thing that the Tazer does when selecting the appropriate regear or would this aspect only pertain to automatics?)
