  2. AEV 2.5 DualSport RT Suspension System - Review

Yep, I’ll have some extra clearance in the wells. The Rubicon is supported for 37s with this suspension thanks to the high fender, if you have the regular (Sport, S, Overland) fenders it’s 35s.
  3. AEV 2.5 DualSport RT Suspension System - Review

I like how it sits. You are on true 37s measured? I have KO2 315/17/70s so smaller by a few inches, Once i get this installed we will have a good comparison of 35s or 37s with this suspension. I assume that the springs will settle a bit under more load. With about 90 lbs of winch and winch plate...
  4. AEV 2.5 DualSport RT Suspension System - Review

Excellent! Thanks for the write up. Will be interested in how the Timbrens perform, I want to add those at some point. My experience with 5100s I hit the stops much less frequently. With the Timbrens did you still use the rear bump stop pads in the AEV kit?
  5. AEV Releases JT 2.5 DualSport RT Suspension System

The only time I’ve seen manufacturers post their spring rates is for linear springs. I’m not aware of any manufacturer of dual or triple (progressive) rated posting this. Possibly proprietary? For the JK, AEV does promote additional weight capacity which was generally linear to taller springs...
  6. AEV Releases JT 2.5 DualSport RT Suspension System

I don’t have anything negative to say about Rancho, in fact I’ve only heard good things about their shocks. To say AEV is just overpriced and dismiss the quality, well right now no one has given feedback on the 2.5 lift for the JT but for the JK and JL, I know many owners with that installed...
  7. AEV Releases JT 2.5 DualSport RT Suspension System

Well, I’m going in. Ordered last night from Northridge to save on the shipping, though it drop ships from AEV and that can take a few weeks. Will post here with updates on install and impressions.
  8. For those that have the bad steering box...let's talk.

I’ve only had my JTR for a month but it is a Nov 2019 build so it has the aluminum steering box. I’ve tried to determine if I have the issue but I only have my last Jeep (2015 JKU) as a reference and that steering was loose always. When people mention “dead zone” does that mean loose play in...
  9. Phone Solutions

It gets ridiculous, but for solo trips here is my set up. The 67 Designs rail for the phone mount, dash cam, and a mag mic mount for my gmrs handset. The iPad (for maps) is on a Ram mount/67 Designs arm, attached to a CMM grab handle ball. It’s all super solid and minimal movement on rough trails.

  12. AEV Releases JT 2.5 DualSport RT Suspension System

Also, pretty sure the reason behind the 5100s is to keep the price down. 8100s would almost double the cost of the kit. Still available aftermarket, Tuned for the JT.
  13. AEV Releases JT 2.5 DualSport RT Suspension System

I’ve been waiting for this. I’m okay with the 5100s if they perform comparably to the set on my JKU which had a heavy constant load and high COG (Gobi rack, RTT). I also had the Geometry Brackets and those definitely improved the on-road handling for daily driving. If you do more off the grid...

  16. AEV 2 Inch Spacer Lift (installed with pics)

Looks great! Who did the install? Mind sharing how much (minus parts)? Looking at this as a bridge until the Dual Sport becomes available.
