When I first installed it, I did have a little leaking in the cross piece area and the tailgate area but I was able to mitigate most of it.
I used the ESI Tailgate Seal kit to seal off the tailgate. On the cross piece, I noticed that one of the aluminum feet had a small arc on it. I...
That's exactly how my installation went. Just go slow and don't rush it. I also bent one clip while doing it. There's also these white caps at the end towards the cab. I just broke those off.
Thanks man. It's my carbon gravel bike which I built myself. I also mountain bike too. One of the guys on this Forum said I would regret getting the DB HD cause the SE isn't as tough. SE looks plenty tough to me based on my needs. Ha ha!
I also bought some FR tie down rings which I can...
That looks really cool. I'm probably going to copy what you did. I needed a place to mount a shovel too. Looks like you could find another use for that $120 you woulda paid for the DB Toolbar, LOL!
Does the rear cover still open on it's own with the shovel attached?
I finally got my Front Runner Rack System installed on my DB SE this weekend. Instructions weren't the best but thanks to YouTube I was able to get it on. It seems the DB has a slight taper from front to back you have to account for when installing the rails.
Not familiar with the Xtrusion rack but based on the pictures, the SE doors look like they would come in contact with the cross bars. I agree with the cost point, I got an SE myself. The military discount helped a little but I think if you don't need the extra weight capacity, I don't think...
Thanks for posting this. That's a pretty cool setup with the Rhinoracks. That's the first time I've seen that particular configuration. It looks really strong.
Thanks for the response. You've actually reinforced some of the thoughts I had. The Toolbar gives you some mounting options laterally but that's about it for $120. If you don't mind, please post your mounted quick fists when you're done. I'd sure like to see that.
I'm thinking about possibly purchasing the Diamondback ToolBar Accessory but also looking at alternatives. It seems like it's just an aluminum T-Track and some well nuts.
Anyone have any experience with a DIY solution they can share?
Just an update on my new DiamondBack. It's been great so far. I'm glad I bought it. It definitely makes my JT stand out as I have noticed people staring at my ride more than usual. I'm hoping to have my Front Runner rack installed later this week. I've had the opportunity to exchange a few...
I ordered mine black smooth finish, clean with no cleats installed. Looks cool to me. I figured if I ever needed to strap anything down to the top of the truck bed I could selectively attach the cleats or FR tie down loops onto the T-slots from the Front Runner. To be honest, I haven't had to...
I'm glad I'm not the only one out there with my use case. The money I saved buying the SD over the HD paid for my Front Runner accessory. Based on my initial observations with the SE, it looks beefy as hell. I also weigh close to 200 lbs and I can walk all over the cover. It can definitely...
If my JT was being used as a work truck or I was frequently carrying heavy loads reaching upward towards 1600lbs I would have definitely bought an HD. I use my JT mostly as a fun, adventure truck to go to outdoor workout spots with my paddleboards, kayaks and bikes (which are mostly carbon...
I don't think so Sarge. I'm mounting a mountain bike on it. Last time I checked my bike was less than 400lbs. LLOD and others have actually mounted RTTS on the SE with success but I don't think DB wants you to know that.
I wondered the same thing myself. I wish it did. Based on the few conversations I've had they don't even offer any real support for the Front Runner system because it is not made by DB. From what I understand it was actually a product combo that LLOD put together and DB and FR collaborated to...
Hey Timmy. You can take it for what its worth. I guess it's easy to sit behind your keyboard and fire away at someone's post you don't even know. That's a form of shit posting too. I'm not looking for my hand to get held. I'm just relaying my experiences.
Watch your manners Timmy. It...
