Unless I missed something, I don't see how it's possible for a vehicle to go from stock 33" tires to 40" tires, not to mention adding weight like a winch and heavy steel bumper, and yet its FASTER than stock without regearing????
yeah, I am calling B.S. on that. It's just not possible.
If you were expecting something old school, I think you will be very disappointed. Yes the wrangler and Gladiator look kinda retro, but lets be honest here. How could they NOT look retro. It's hard to stay true to the wrangler without keeping a certain look. Jeep has tried the retro thing with...
Even in something as unaerodynamic as a jeep, the engineers have done every little thing they can to improve mpg straight out of the box. even on trucks. One of the big changes is how wide the top edge of the tailgate is. They used to be very narrow. if you look at say a 90's truck, the very top...
Oh boy,
The fun has only just begun. The JT is brand new so this will continue FOR YEARS!!!
It's the same with every vehicle on every forum and car based page, and it goes hand in hand with people who want to ask questions without doing any research on their own.
I feel your history with Lagarto is a bit more sentimental/meaningful overall and you should run with that. Not only does it have history and meaning to you, I feel like as Gator color JT's become more plentiful on the roads as well as on the internet, alligator themed version will also start...
OK, so while I absolutely LOVE the Lagarto decal, and the font looks amazing. Even though the color is Gator, I just can't get behind the Alligator image. It just messes with me knowing a gator is not technically lizard. If it had some sort of Lizard in the image, it would be perfect.
Now if...
So if I understand the operation correctly, the CAD only disconnects the right side axle shaft. The left side is still attached to differential and driveshaft, thus the driveshaft is always turning. But the t-case is not engaged until you pull the lever.
You forgot about the frame. I'm putting money on it being a damaged frame. Right now every frame produced is being used in production so there aren't frames out there for repair purposes.
Owner is on some of the Gladiator Facebook pages, he also owns the Commando they have worked on in a couple previous episodes. He bought the Gladiator and contacted the director and asked if they wanted to use it. Whether he actually "needs" a snorkel or not, does it really matter? Someone else...
That's during testing, you know when they find out what works and what doesn't. There is a distinct possibility that they found out those wheels couldn't handle the weight during this exact test or others like it. If there wasn't a potential problem, they wouldn't have made the wheels any...
@TheSolarWizard
You're confusing unsprung weight with rotating mass, Yes, the "actual, physical" additional weight or "UNSPRUNG WEIGHT" is the equivalent of 192lbs, BUT ROTATIONAL MASS is about 3x the penalty of unsprung weight.
So in actuality, you have added the equivalent of 576 ADDITIONAL...
JK rims are fine on a daily driver, BUT if you plan to tow or haul anything with your JT, DONT USE THEM. The JK rims don't have the weight carrying capacity that the JT wheels have.
JT wheels were designed and built with extra weight carrying capacity specifically for the Gladiator. This is why...
