Yep this comes in handy if the doors are off for a quick grab but I try to keep nothing of value in the Jeep at that point.

I did the 5in to 8.4 and just continued using the oem controls and controlling the audio from the steering wheel. This seems like a giant hassle as far as finding the right controls. Following this thread just in case....

Yes they are supposed to lock. I have a 2021 and it locks ( manual everything ). Would not make any sense for it not to lock. Dealerships are terrible. Take it back in and have it repaired.

Yes, it’s a very simple swap. I was done in under 45 minutes or so. 5 inches to 8.4. If you buy the radio used you will need the radio unlock code. It can be bought on eBay for $10 if you don’t want to bug your dealer.

I did the swap in my 2021. It was plug and play and very easy to do. Once you plug it in you will not have the reverse camera working.
