But the digital gauges give you more systems info. And the iconography is the exact same, it's just on a screen vice a physical needle moving. Some of those old cars used to not even come with tachometers. I'll take a digital gauge with a reading on any sensor I please over that.

The computer is estimating how far you can go based on your driving habits. Driving habits (ie how fast you drive) changes your average MPG, this your range. It has nothing to do with the gas, amount in the tank, gas station, or anything like that. It's a bad guess thats always getting recalculated
