Seriously... you want your actual (standard/optional) one thrown in the bed (in pieces)? That's a "dealer installed" accessory that the dealer should/will install...

Oh, I am not at all surprised a tire manufacture [representitive] says not to do that. A 10” wide tire on an 8.5” wide wheel. As often as people put 12.5” wide tires on 7.5” wide wheels… I’m going to say… eff it and probably do it anyway. People stretch tires all the time. Is a 1/2” really...

I too want the Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT 255/85R17 (35x10.0x17). and am SUPER JEALOUS you have that opportunity. I called Belle Tire and my choice 4x4/Jeep shop... they BOTH said they have NO ISSUE mounting said tires on 17x8.5" wheels. Do it!
