...agree...easy to pry off the speaker cover, remove two screws, pull speaker out, remove speaker connector, install in reverse with new speakers. I was able to tell the difference by changing the corner dash speakers with the Crutchfield online recommendations. No cutting involved.
I agree. This water leak should have a TSB. It is affecting many owners. I commented about this earlier. Other car brands have TSBs for water leaks. I am not sure why FCA, or whatever the new name is, does not consider this matter as TSB material.

I wonder why the lights flashed twice (?). At first, I thought they were doing this https://jalopnik.com/thieves-steal-a-car-in-20-seconds-by-remotely-cloning-t-1826451687 , but then saw them pushing the car forward probably doing the park override like @Pepe mentions above.
This one has the part that connects to the OBD2 connector to do certain customizations. The new one you have to keep plugged to the "gateway" behind dash to do customizations. Both do the same things.

When you add the speakers to the cart, it added the "aftermarket" stuff and it included the Metra 72... Adapter (see page 2 of this thread).
You want to unplug the white/black cable from the new large speaker, then use the Metra 72... Adapter and plug to oem harness where the old large speaker...
There is a built-in crossover with one connector. Plug the small speaker to the oem harness for the small speaker, disconnect large speaker from crossover and use the crutchfield adapter to connect to the other one harness connector (don't use crossover connection).
