What will be interesting to hear are reports on how dealers respond to people who bring their JT in for the recalled steering box replacement where they have addEd Synergy braces and made other changes trying to reduce the impact of the bad box. Will they honor the recall?
That new information sounds exactly right and its why I have continually said and observed that an improperly adjusted or designed box always gets worse with use.
Plus, you could just turn the camera on and watch the trailer all day if you wanted to. The point being, you are in control, not some potentially faulty software.
I have the Nfab on my JTR. Steps are always a compromise on a vehicle designed to go off-road. If they hang down too far, they hang up on rocks and logs. If they are too high, they are unusable. This is why the high priced electric ones are the best. I’m happy with the Nfabs. I have a couple of...
If your steering is really loose, I think you will be disappointed. It is not the great panacea everyone wishes it were. You should really troubleshoot your steering components and determine exactly where the slop is. 95% of the time it will be in the steering box and no brace, track rod...
Funny, my 2019 Porsche Cayenne S does exactly the same thing, stays on for about 10 seconds after shifting into drive. I always thought it was for the multiple times I forget things, I can see my wife running after me!
My BU camera icon already looks like that, so I may be fine.
Yep, that is the downside and when I was younger would have been a show stopper. Now, one need is stronger than the other and it is just the wife, dog and me. Makes it easier.
Every build I’ve ever completed in the past I did myself including paint and body work. This time I farmed it out to Jesse at Rubitrux in Boone, NC. They were fantastic! I’ll post the invoice below, but it is not for the squimish!
I sold my 1987 LR Defender that I built including adding an LS...
Makes it a completely different truck. I loved driving it with the 3.6, but I live to drive it with the 6.4. My wife can’t believe how willing I am to run errands now!
You are correct on the spacer. I went with the Synergy brace and track bar. Interestingly, after the lift on the front the passenger tire is an inch further out than the driver. The adjustable track bar fixed that. The rear was fine.
I always loved my RTT...when I was younger and didn’t have to pee in the middle of the night. Worse yet, my wife has to pee in the middle of the night!
i got a truck bed tent that fits my JTR perfectly. With an AirBedz mattress and a 2” topper, we have an almost queen size bed in the truck bed...
That is my JTR.
Mopar lift, Warn Xeon 10s winch, Maximus 3 winch mount, low Mopar brush bar, Rigid 10” light bar under hoop, twin 3” Rigid cube light on cowl (spots and floods), Nitto 37/13.50-20 on Fuel Rampage 20x10 wheels. And some other stuff.
To the OP, if your daughter is the 14yo, I cannot imagine her having ANY interest in sleeping inside a RTT with her parents, let alone her brothers. I’ve used RTTs for years, although today I have a bed tent and mattress that is perfect for my wife and me (basically a queens size bed for my 5’...
My tires won’t fit in the channels for the traditional “put it in neutral and it is pulled through” car wash and I would never use the touch less kind where you pull in and it sprays toxic chemicals that strip wax and every other protectIve coating. I use my power washer regularly and it works...
Select CarPlay using the buttons on the bottom and turn up the volume. If the audio (radio, etc.) continues to play, open the google maps app on your cell phone or any other app that turns audio volume off. Then adjust the nav volume.
