  1. Are the batteries really isolated during ESS stops?

If this was what was happening, wouldn't the load on the aux battery be consistent? What explains the aux battery voltage going up instead of being flat? What one action separates the batteries and cranks the starter at the same instance in time? The simultaneous drop of both battery...
  2. Are the batteries really isolated during ESS stops?

Are you saying that both batteries are powering everything the whole time and that the additional load of powering the starter means the main battery provides less power to the electronics and accessories, putting more load on the aux battery to power the electronics and accessories and that's...
  3. Are the batteries really isolated during ESS stops?

When @Flanders posted the ESS restart oscilloscope image, I was surprised that people viewing the image were drawing exact opposite conclusions. Over the past few months I've tried to come up with other ways (without modifying or risky damage to my system) to determine what actually happens...
  4. swaybar front disconnects...........

It gets worse, after all this discussion I looked and may have a local source.
  5. swaybar front disconnects...........

@ShadowsPapa , I wonder if your repositioned shock reservoirs will have any clearance issues with the swaybar disconnect mechanism.
  6. swaybar front disconnects...........

It needs lots of ketchup and may be an acquired taste.
  7. swaybar front disconnects...........

I spent the first 4 years of my life in Maryland and am a big fan of scrapple. I don't get it much lately though.
  8. soundbar upgrade - better or bigger?

Yes, you will get noticeably more bass from a larger speaker.
  9. Aux battery delete now issues

I'm not sure of the exact sequence, but I think the stop button gets pushed before the transmission is shifted to park, which puts the ignition in accessory mode. Then the shifter light flashes to remind the driver to shift to park, which they do and exit the vehicle not realizing they are...
  10. Aux battery delete now issues

The guy is still posting here, thanks for the slack. At the time of that original post, people were still getting used to the dual battery stop start system. A common problem was to park and think the engine was turned off when it was just stopped, then not be able to jumpstart it after the...
  11. ESS warning light with a ! after it

The ESS warning light also indicates that ESS is disabled due to issues with another system.

  13. 3.6 Engine - Now I understand the power issue

We just drove my wife's 3.6 powered 2024 Grand Cherokee L from Des Moines to Seattle in August. We covered the same territory as you and did not have any performance issues with the 3.6.
  14. $1,350 battery replacement?

The loud pop, sizzling noise and burning smell reminded me of this issue https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/forum/threads/us-investigating-781k-jeeps-over-underhood-fire-reports-wrangler-gladiator-power-steering-pump-electrical-connector-issue.85238/post-1378121.
  15. $1,350 battery replacement?

It is hard to say what actually happened, but I thought I'd take this opportunity to bring up the N3 fuse for those that may not be aware of it, the effect it can have and the temporary work around.
  16. $1,350 battery replacement?

The only $99 fuse I'm aware of would be the high capacity fuse array. If that actually needed replaced, that is an indication that the N3 fuse was blown and all that needed to be done was to move the N3 cable to the N4 terminal to get power back to the electrical systems. That would only take...
  17. Sunrider owners - MY mess-up, or theirs?

I've been out of town, but am back and can help if you still need it.
  18. Trail Cover Reliability

It took a lot of towel to prevent the water from pooling with my JL. What worked better for me were a couple 4" foam balls, one on each side (sorry, no pics).
  19. Trail Cover Reliability

Due to the lack of a solid roof under the trail cover, rain water can pool instead of running off, which can be an issue in a heavy rain.
  20. Corrosion starting

The black coating on the hinge is not conductive, I suspect the adhesive isn't either.
